    About this experience

This tour will take guests through 4 unique communities in North San Diego County; Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff By-The-Sea, and Encinitas. This tour is unique because we will be able to cover nearly 15 miles in 2.5 hours on capable and easy-to-use electric bike. All of our bikes have different levels of pedal assist, as well as different options for using a throttle. We have bikes suitable for riders 5'0" and taller, but we also have options for children! We have two (2) Rad Power Radwagon cargo bikes which have seats for up to two children. Additionally, we have child seats for children up to 45 pounds that can be installed on our electric bikes. Our tour guides have extensive knowledge of the North County area about local cuisine, beer and wine options, artisans, art galleries, local surf spots, and so much more. If you have something that you are dying to see, do, or learn about in the area, please ask us! Please note that much of the riding will be on street or in bike lanes

    What you'll see and do

    1. Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage & Meditation Gardens

We will stop at the beautiful and historical meditation gardens founded in 1938 but Paramahansa Yogananda. We will be able to walk through the gardens if desired! Edit; due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are unable to go into the gardens but will resume our walks through the gardens as soon as possible. In the meantime we will stop at the border of this property to enjoy the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

      15 minutes here

    2. Del Mar Racing

The Del Mar Racetrack has been the central hub of Del Mar since it's inception by Bing Crosby in 1936. The fairgrounds have hosted the Del Mar Fair (aka San Diego County Fair), thoroughbred horse races, and for two years during WWII the Del Mar Racetrack was closed to use the space to construct parts for B-17 Bombers.

      5 minutes here

    3. VG Donuts is an iconic donut shop/bakery that has been owned and operated by the same family since 1969 (three generations!). We can stop in and grab a fresh donut if desired. Also nearby are the classic Pipes Cafe, as well as Besta-Wan Pizza (Encinitas' oldest still existing restaurant!)

      5 minutes here

    4. San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve

This lagoon is one of San Diego’s largest wetland at 979-acres. This ecological reserve is primarily a shallow-water estuary, formed where the Escondido and La Orilla Creeks meet the Pacific Ocean. I love showing guests this portion of the tour at the lowest or highest tides, as they can come back 6 hours later to see how different the reserve looks with the tidal differences.

      5 minutes here

    5. Fletcher Cove Park

Fletcher Cover Park is a local's secret for basketball, beach access, and a playground for kids. There is also a lifeguard station here and a ramp for easy access to the water. Public restrooms and showers here make this a perfect spot for a family beach day. Around Christmas time they also put up a beautiful Christmas Tree with ornaments for everyone to see and enjoy.

      5 minutes here

    6. Moonlight State Beach

Moonlight State Beach is a huge attraction for families. With firepits, volleyball courts, plenty of sand, and a concession stand for snacks, there is something for EVERYONE. We will take you right past it so you know where to go cool off after the tour with a dip in the ocean.

      Pass by without stopping

    7. The Encinitas Boat Houses are an iconic funky spot in Encinitas. These Boat Houses have never felt the salt of the sea, but you would never guess when looking at them! Constructed from an old bathhouse and hotel, these homes are rented out for a premium. While we cannot enter the houses currently, there are talks of turning them into a museum/historical landmark open for tours in the future.

Rachel gave us an awesome day of touring on ebikes!

Rachel did a great job taking us on our tour! The bikes were so fun, the bits of history scattered into our stops was super interesting and it was just a great day riding around the beach towns.

Response from the operator: Hey Shauna! Thanks for the review, I had so much fun with you guys out there!!

Relaxing Coastal bike ride with tour guide

Rachel was an excellent tour guide who provided good knowledge of the area, provided perfect areas to take photographs, great food venues to go to, and took us around residential areas. My husband and I really enjoyed the bike tour. I would highly recommend taking a bike tour with this company.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the review! Glad you had a great time out there with Rachel and enjoyed seeing all of the sites around North County San Diego. Hope you had a great rest of your trip!

Great ride along gorgeous coast with sea breezes

Wonderful bicycle tour with e-bikes alongside the coast and a few towns. Easy, scenic, good allocation of riding and breaks. Rachel was friendly, safety-conscious, and easy to ride with.

Response from the operator: Love to hear it! Thank you for the review, come see us again!

    Thrills not spills

We are seven guys that had a great time. The bikes were not what I expected. I wish they had been a full frame bike. our tour guide was fantastic. He kept us together and was great on sharing information about the local area. The equipment all work well. No one fell, we had a lot of thrills along the way. This was a private group and it felt like one. It was fun.

Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Carlsbad.

How much does Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas cost?

    +

Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Carlsbad usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Carlsbad is not rushed.

Is Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 56 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Carlsbad, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas?

    +

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Carlsbad can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Carlsbad and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Local Guided Electric Bike Tour from Solana Beach to Encinitas start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Carlsbad within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Carlsbad?

    +

Carlsbad sells beach and lagoon time north of San Diego: surf lessons, e-bike coastal rides, Flower Fields visits in spring, Legoland tickets and whale watching from Oceanside. On Outty we rank every Carlsbad experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Carlsbad Food Tour, LEGOLAND® California Theme Park Admission Tickets, 1 Day Electric Bike Rental in Solana Beach. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Carlsbad?

    +

March to May for the flower fields, June to September for the beach. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Carlsbad?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
