    What you'll see and do

    1. A small-group circle where guests can converse freely with Emiratis and ask anything about life, customs, work, and family traditions. Calm and comforting. The majlis is a slow, warm space that contrasts with busier city tours and helps travelers feel genuinely welcomed. Stories you remember. Short, vivid storytelling on pearl diving, desert travel, falconry culture, and Abu Dhabi’s transformation gives context to the city’s landmarks. Photo-worthy and tasteful. Beautiful setups with textiles and heritage items create meaningful photos without feeling staged. Hospitality in action. Guests are welcomed with gahwa and dates and learn why generosity and respect are core Emirati values. Emirati expressions are introduced in an easy, friendly way. Material culture. Sadu textiles, the dallah, finjān, mabkhara, and bukhoor are explained and used, not just displayed. Traditional attire and practice, seating, greeting, and photo etiquette. Food heritage. Connect guests to flavors of the UAE.

    A truly authentic Emirati experience

The Emirati House Experience was one of the most meaningful parts of our trip to Abu Dhabi. Being welcomed into an Emirati home and learning directly from a local host gave us a real insight into Emirati life, traditions, and values. It felt personal, genuine, and very different from a typical tour. Our host was incredibly welcoming and took the time to explain daily life, family traditions, hospitality, and the importance of culture in Emirati society. Sharing stories, asking questions, and experiencing the warmth of Emirati hospitality made us feel completely at ease. What made this experience stand out was the authenticity. It wasn’t scripted or rushed, it felt like a real cultural exchange. If you want to understand the UAE beyond landmarks and photos, this experience is a must. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a deeper connection with the local culture.

Must do by residents and tourists of UAE.

I have been living in Dubai for almost 7 years and truly believed I knew a lot about Emarati culture and traditions. But I could never imagine that there is still a lot more to learn especially when it is presented by Maitha - an amazing person and a local tour guide at the same time. This authentoc experience is taking place at the private house of Maitha and her mother. The first part is the talk about Emirati hospitality and Majlis traditions. You will also be served Arabic coffee with dates. By the way you can ask as many questions as you want, even embarrassing ones. The 2nd part is a dinner served in a traditional sitting layout on the floor or low pillows (be ready to seat low for about 40 mins).Food is simple, yet delicious, cooked by Maitha's mother. And the last part is dedicated to Oud and bahour-arabic scents. All in all we spent there about 2 hrs, and even my non English speaking mom enjoyed a lot. Definetly will recommended Maitha's Emirati House experience to everybody.

    Emirati Culture and Traditions

Miss Maitha organized a very nice tour at her house. You get to learn and understand the cultures, rules, and traditions Emiratis have in their homes, their spices, food, scents, their marriage traditions from the beginning to how it has evolved over the years. Maitha prepared authentic emirati food for us. I would recommend this tour to people who want to learn more about the UAE and the people. This type of tour is one of its kind in the UAE and all the details can be found online. I am glad I was a part of this experience as I can share the information with my friends and family and enlighten them too.

Local Emirati House Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Abu Dhabi.

How much does Local Emirati House Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $283 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Abu Dhabi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Local Emirati House Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Abu Dhabi is not rushed.

Is Local Emirati House Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Abu Dhabi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Local Emirati House Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Local Emirati House Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Local Emirati House Experience?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Abu Dhabi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Abu Dhabi and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Local Emirati House Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Abu Dhabi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Abu Dhabi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Abu Dhabi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dubai Evening Desert Safari BBQ Premium Camp & optional Quad Bike, Abu Dhabi Desert Safari with Camel Ride BBQ Dinner and Live Shows, Desert Safari In Abu Dhabi With BBQ Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Abu Dhabi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Abu Dhabi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
