What you get

    About this experience

We will take you through the narrow and quiet Venetian streets between the Cannaregio district and the Ancient Jewish Ghetto, the wonderful antiques shop windows and traditional Jewish shops. We will be able to stop and drink an excellent espresso in the small coffee shop in the city that has been using the same recipe for almost a century. We can then head towards the beating heart of Venice in the San Polo and San Marco districts. We will not fail to cross the Rialto Bridge and take a tour of the Rialto Market. We will visit a "hidden place" from which to appreciate a completely exclusive view of the Grand Canal. For lunch, an ancient bacaro hides among the narrow and intricate calli of Venice where you can enjoy excellent traditional Venetian cicchetti. We will reach Piazza San Marco, surrounded by its main buildings and we will arrive at the Bridge of Sighs; finally you can visit the Basilica of San Marco (not included). Afterwards, we will take the ferry boat to reach the rail station.

    Thank you, Nicola.

Wonderful day spent with Nicola, a magnificent guide who showed us the Venice that tourist tours do not reveal and helped us discover many beautiful, priceless gems that we will carry with us from this invaluable trip.

    Book a different tour company

This tour was supposed to be an English tour. It was a German and English mix so it took twice as much time, as we had to wait for the information to be translated for the other people. We were told we would be picked up in Padua and then got a phone call and were sent train tickets to take the train ourselves. Our tour included a tour of St Mark’s Basilica (which we had paid for) but we were told the tickets were sold out even though we had booked this tour months before, so we could not go inside. The guide walked really fast and did not wait for anyone. The return train was incorrectly booked and we had to be sent a new train ticket. All in all a time-wasting tour that did not meet the tour description.

Response from the operator: Dear Madam, we are sorry for the way you experienced this. We, as always, have tried to carry out the service in the best possible way and with professionalism. Regarding what you say, we would like to point out that in the confirmation voucher we send before each tour it is clearly stated that you reach Venice by train. The tour was conducted in English as per your request. It had never happened to us to receive complaints about the contents being explained in a second language and we are sorry that this represented a disservice to you. On the contrary, I would add that we have often received enthusiastic reviews for the ability of our guides and tour leaders to range from one language to another with ease, involving all participants despite their different backgrounds. For the missed entrance to St Mark's Basilica, however, we apologise. Despite the fact that tickets were booked well in advance, they were no longer available. It was our mistake not to have informed you in time, and for this we are willing to refund the entrance fee. With regard to the timing of the tour, precisely because we want to keep to what was described and promised at the time of booking, the guide walked at the speed necessary to complete the described itinerary, and moreover, to accommodate the needs of all present, the tour lasted an extra 2 hours. The latter is why in the end, in order not to incur possible fines, we changed the train tickets so that they had the correct time. This last point I would therefore see as a supplement to the tour provided on the spot for total customer care and not as a disservice. Team Lovivo Tour Experience

    Amazing Excursion! 10/10

Our tour guide Camilla was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about both Venice and Padua, providing many fun facts about monuments and history. She knew all the best spots; restaurants, shops, sights, and more! Venice is incredibly easy to get lost in with all the charming, winding streets, so an expert tour guide such as Camilla is a must. An unexpected perk was that she took the best photos and videos of me and my partner to help remember the trip by!

Response from the operator: Hello Alina, We are glad you enjoyed our services. We hope to have you as guests in future. Thank you, Team Lovivo Tour Experience

Live Venice as a local departing from Padua: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Live Venice as a local departing from Padua cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Live Venice as a local departing from Padua take?

    +

Plan for about 7.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Live Venice as a local departing from Padua worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Live Venice as a local departing from Padua?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Live Venice as a local departing from Padua suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Live Venice as a local departing from Padua?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 7.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Live Venice as a local departing from Padua start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
