Great afternoon with history and whiskey!
We just spent this past Saturday afternoon on the Whiskey and History tour. Friends of ours joined us for the event. We're actually locals, living in the next town over 10 minutes away, lol, so we were excited to learn a bit about our next-door neighbors. Our guide Kevin had a bit of a challenge with Mother Nature on Saturday as we were literally 5 minutes into our tour when it started pouring. He kindly got us under shelter and continued his talk about the history of Lititz. What I found most interesting was the background of the Moravian piece of Lititz. Didn't really know much about the Moravian faith so that part of the tour was quite fascinating. We were able to continue the tour after about 20 minutes, and walked a little further in town to look at other historical buildings and the stories behind them. The rain was persistent however so in between showers, Kevin completed the tour and took us to Stoll and Wolff a bit earlier than anticipated. No problem with us! We're all geeks when it comes to distilling and learning about whiskey and bourbon. The time at Stoll and Wolff was quite interesting and enjoyable. Mr Wolff (father of owner) was a good storyteller and in fact, during his talk, my husband and I learned that he's related to the folks who built our home in 1837 and were involved in milling and distilling in our town. We enjoyed tasting 3 different spirits and had a tour of the distilling room. The tour overall was a bit over 2 hours, but well worth the very reasonable ticket price. If you want something a little different to do for the afternoon, I highly suggest taking this tour both the Lititz history and some great whiskey!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this glowing review of our Whiskey & History Tour! We appreciate you booking with us!

Good tour but loud traffic & fast talking made it difficult to hear anything
The tour provided interesting info about Lititz history, however due to lots of traffic noise, it was extremely difficult to hear the tour guide. At most of the stops along E. Main St., I could hear maybe 20% of what she said. The same for the other people in my group of 12 also said the same thing during and afterwards. Also, she talked rather fast which made understanding her in the loud environment rather difficult. Maybe a mic and loudspeaker would be helpful so the attendees can actually hear the stories being told to us. Our group was from Lancaster and Lebanon Counties so we were local.
Response from the operator: Thanks for this review. Typically, noises from trucks and motorcycles present no problems. We will remind the guides to talk louder and a little slower. This is the first review we have ever gotten like this. Thanks

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lititz Whiskey and History Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lancaster.
How much does Lititz Whiskey and History Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lancaster usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lititz Whiskey and History Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lancaster is not rushed.
Is Lititz Whiskey and History Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Lancaster, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lititz Whiskey and History Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lititz Whiskey and History Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lititz Whiskey and History Tour?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lancaster can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lancaster and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lititz Whiskey and History Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lancaster within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lancaster?
+
Lancaster, PA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Lancaster by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Lancaster experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Amish Country Tour including Amish Farm and House, Amish Experience Visit-In-Person Tour, Unique Amish Immersion in Lancaster. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lancaster?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Lancaster, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lancaster?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
