We will discover the Lido island by bike, with its groomed shellac beaches, bronzed lifeguards and old ladies sipping Prosecco at the market, experiencing the Belle Epoque glamour passing in front of the beautiful hotels designed in the 20s in Art Noveau style. We will enjoy special views of Venice biking along the lagoon and reaching an old Israelitic cemetery. Biking through the San Nicolò harbor mouth we will reach its lighthouse and we will end up at the Hotel Excelsior, where the stars gather on the red carpet during the glittering Venice Movie Festival. We will bike along the canals of Malamocco, a colorful fishing village that’s like a miniature version of Venice, cycle through a forest reserve to a lighthouse and relax like the locals do by heading to quiet Alberoni beach for a drink or a swim. The route will continue on the lagoon side of the island, with views of the abandoned island of Poveglia, the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio and San Lazzaro degli Armeni.

A former luxury hotel, built in 1900 to attract wealthy tourists, it is remembered for Thomas Mann's stay here in 1911 and the shooting of movies like "Death in Venice" by Visconti (1971) and the English Patient (1996).

From the beach we will enter this small fisherman village passing over Ponte di Borgo and explore the canals and calli or a less overwhelming lagoon town with just a few churches and a Gothic palazzo, a small miniature of Venice!

Highly recommended, the bike tour on Lido
We once again had a wonderful time with Valerio at the Lido. The bike ride is also very good for less athletic like me. We learned a lot of interesting facts and received great tips for further activities. The tour is very varied. You can see the railings of the Film Festival, the old Grand Hotel and the wonderful beach. It was not our first tour with Valerio and certainly not the last. We will definitely come back.

All around a beautiful experience
Very nice tour. We were very surprised how varied the island can be. Valerio has managed to surprise us with different impressions as always. When we are back in Venice , we will definitely book tours with him again. If you sit with him on a splash at the end of the tour you get a lot of additional information about the different islands and you almost forget that you are on a tour. It almost feels like you're out with a friend.

Reliable & knowledgeable tour guide
We were a group of 6 people, so we booked a private tour of Lido. Excellent communications by email. Responded promptly to all questions. Confirmed trip and meeting point that was easy to find near the water taxi. Nice bike ride. The bike rental prices were very reasonable at 12 EU/pp. I would recommend renting asking for a bike with wider tires for that same route. There was a sandy path we took, but took, but some of us got off our bikes and walked them over these areas. The roads and paths were a little rough in some spots - wider tires would help absorb the bumpiness.
