Awesome surf class in Gold Coast with friendly informative instructor

Great surf class. Our instructor Rohan was very friendly and did a great job explaining basics and showing us the right techniques. He spent extra time with my kids and we all had a blast. I highly recommend doing this tour and ask for Rohan!

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the awesome review! 🙌 We’re stoked you and the kids had such a great time out in the water with Rohan. He’s a ripper and we’re really lucky to have instructors like him who genuinely care about making sure everyone has a great experience. It’s great to hear that the explanations and tips helped, and even better that the whole family got stuck into it and had a blast! We’ll definitely pass your kind words on to Rohan — he’ll love hearing them. Thanks again for choosing Go Ride a Wave, and we hope to see you guys back in the water with us again soon! 🌊🏄‍♂️

Never too old to learn

Friendly reminder call from Cal before the lesson and he put everyone at ease whilst also explaining how we would stay safe out in the water which was a bit choppy. Managed to get up on board a few times and had a lot of fun though quite exhausted and slept well!

Response from the operator: Thank you for the fantastic review! We love hearing that it's never too late to learn to surf. We're glad Cal helped everyone feel comfortable and confident before heading into the water, especially with the choppy conditions. Congratulations on getting up on the board a few times! Thanks for joining us, and we hope to see you back for another surf and a well-earned sleep afterwards!

Great surfing lesson and instructors!

Had a great time with the instructors. Clear explanations and enough support on the water. I was able to stand from the get go. I felt like the instructors took good care of the group and were keen to answer any questions or help you out a bit more if you needed. Also great for anyone who has some experience and just wants the reassurance of having someone more knowledgeable around.

Response from the operator: Hi Maria, Thanks so much for the awesome review! 🤙 Stoked to hear you had such a great experience and were up and standing from the start — that’s epic! Great to know the team made you feel supported in the water and were able to help wherever needed. We love catering for both first-timers and those with a bit of experience looking to build confidence. Really appreciate the kind words and hope to see you back in the water again soon! Cheers, Sam

Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Brisbane.

How much does Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast cost?

+

Prices start at $94 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Brisbane usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast take?

+

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Brisbane is not rushed.

Is Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 125 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Brisbane, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast?

+

Around 44 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Brisbane can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Brisbane and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Learn to Surf at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Brisbane within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Brisbane?

+

On Outty we rank every Brisbane experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Brisbane River Cruise with entry to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, North Stradbroke Island WILDLIFE Adventure Tour from Brisbane, Australia Zoo Day Trip from Brisbane. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Brisbane?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Brisbane?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
