The Acropolis with transportation to the hotel

We were scheduled for a very early flight on the morning after disembarking from our ship. We booked a full day tour with Tours of Athens. We were picked up on the morning of disembarking at the arranged time. The vehicle was large enough for the 5 of us to fit comfortably. Our guide was fantastic as she took us on a well-informed tour of the Acropolis, the Agora and the city of Athens. We stopped for lunch at a small gyros restaurant which was not touristy at all. The most important aspect of this rating is that my older son who is mobility challenged was treated with respect by our guide who patiently waited for him to catch up with the rest of our group. At the end of our tour we were driven directly to our hotel near the airport. It was everything we wanted.

    Enthusiastically recommend!

Athens Limo Tours turned a stressful travel situation into a sightseeing adventure for our son and his friend. After a cancelled flight and a missed flight, the boys were able to see a bit of Athens with a last minute tour booking. We were impressed with the quick response and excellent communication. Thank you Athens Limo Tours! Enthusiastically recommend!

Only Had One Day in Athens

We booked a full day layover tour after returning from a cruise to Greece and Istanbul because our flight did not leave until evening. It was a little pricey for only two people, but I booked the 8 passenger SUV because we had a lot of luggage with us. It would be much more reasonable if you had a larger group. Our driver was Peter and he was fabulous. He met us right where we came off the boat in a large, new, immaculate Mercedes SUV, assisted us with all our luggage, and gave us ice cold bottles of water. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable, talking to us all the way back to Athens, which was a considerable distance. Due to the nature of our tour, we had been told we needed to book our own excursion to the Acropolis and Parthenon, which we did. (Athens Limo sent us several links to do this.) Before that Peter took us all around Athens and told us many things, and also told us about his wife and young son. He gave me his cell number so we wouldn't have to worry about finding him. He drove us within a block (rest of the way was pedestrian only) of our tour meeting point and gave clear directions to find our tour guide. Afterwards, he was waiting right where he said he would be and we continued seeing the city. He took us to a beautiful overlook of the city where he said he and his friends hung out when he was in high school. He then took us to the airport and got us a luggage cart, which he loaded. The next day he texted to say hello and goodbye. Athens Limo Tours definitely exceeded our expectations.

    A+++++++

My daughter and I had less than 24 hours in Athens and Athens Limo Tours picked us up at the airport, kept our luggage so we could sight see with their wonderful guide, drove us from place to place and delivered us to our hotel in the afternoon. It was PERFECT! Both the driver and guide were lovely and knowledgable. We got to see so much in a short time and really experience Athens. I HIGHLY recommend Athens Limo Service.

    Great experience. Nothing better.

Our driver George was amazing. He was able to get us out of traffic jams and close to things we wanted to see. He was very accommodating when we wanted to stop at none scheduled places. We had a guide through them also she was great. A real archeologist and so much information it was unreal. I would definitely use them again.

Layover Private Tour in Athens: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Layover Private Tour in Athens cost?

    +

Prices start at $403 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Layover Private Tour in Athens take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Layover Private Tour in Athens worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Layover Private Tour in Athens?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Layover Private Tour in Athens suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Layover Private Tour in Athens?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Layover Private Tour in Athens start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
