Cruise was nice but the staff only spoke in Vietnamese. Huge language barrier

Ha Long Bay was absolutely stunning and we had an amazing experience in the rooms as well. Our agent Lana was very helpful and kind. We only faced one major issue with the cruise is the language. We were in an all Vietnamese cruise ship (Sky Cruise) and the guide, the staff everyone spoke in just Vietnamese. Even the safety instructions were spoken in Vietnamese by the guide and he did not know English. Only one staff in the restaurant spoke in English which was helpful at the restaurant. But we couldn’t get any instructions translated. Even the room announcements were in Vietnamese. So that way we definitely felt like outsiders and were constantly confused of what’s happening next. We were not aware of any activities and just followed what the group of people were doing on the ship. Because of the phone networks not working most of the time, we couldn’t even use the translation app to communicate. This made it very difficult to enjoy the full experience. We were a family of 4 and the only foreigners on that ship. If the staff and guide could speak in English then I’m sure this would have been a better experience or if we were given different cruise company by the agent would have been helpful. So make sure to ask your agent to have an English speaking team. We were offered this cruise by our agent so we did not think to ask her then but it’s definitely necessary. Over all I think the experience was good and we would definitely come back to Ha Long Bay Again but with a different cruise company for sure.

    Excellent trip on Halong bay

We were booked on this trip as part of our tour around Vietnam. We were unsure of what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived and had a welcome drink while we waited to be taken by boat to the larger boat. Once we got on board we were welcomed on board with a drink and given our room keys. The cabins were surprisingly spacious and first class! We then had lunch the cruise was very quiet serene and sedate very relaxing. We were able to take part in kayak trip and book massage or treatment as extra. There was also a cookery demonstration to make spring rolls and everyone had a go they were delicious. We had dinner on board and and spent one night on board. The following morning we were taken on smaller boat to sail around the water village which some of the local villagers rowed us around to see how they lived which was amazing to see. We got back onto the cruise boat and had brunch while we cruised back to the port. The food service and everything about the trip was excellent. Well worth doing highly recommend it.

How much does Lan Ha Bay Overnight Cruise with Kayaking, Tai Chi, Swimming,... cost?

    +

Prices start at $121 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ha Long Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lan Ha Bay Overnight Cruise with Kayaking, Tai Chi, Swimming,... take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ha Long Bay is not rushed.

Is Lan Ha Bay Overnight Cruise with Kayaking, Tai Chi, Swimming,... worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Ha Long Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lan Ha Bay Overnight Cruise with Kayaking, Tai Chi, Swimming,...?

    +

Is Lan Ha Bay Overnight Cruise with Kayaking, Tai Chi, Swimming,... suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ha Long Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ha Long Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Ha Long Bay?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ha Long Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All Inclusive 2 Days Halong Bay & Lan Ha Bay on Au Co cruise, Top Tier: Overnight Ha Long Bay Cruise 5-Star, Balcony Cabin-2D1N, All inclusive Bhaya 2-Day Halong Bay Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ha Long Bay?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ha Long Bay?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
