BEST TRIP EVER!!!
I traveled to Budapest with my husband and mother. I did multiple activities through Sweet Travel Private Tours. I worked with Kata Gyevat Dobo for months prior to the trip. She was amazing and organized my entire itinerary for us. She answered every email in a timely manner, planned every detail, and was available on short notice once we were in Hungary. Our guide was the same for every activity. His name was Stephen (the tall guy). He was OUTSTANDING!!!!! I cannot say enough good things about him. He was kind, attentive to my mother, very smart and knowledgeable about everywhere we visited but also of Hungary in general, funny, warm, and exactly who we would want to spend so much time with. My mother actually considers him family at this point. We were all sad to have said good-bye to him. If ever back in Hungary, I would only do activities if Stephen (the tall guy) was my guide!! I am so grateful to this team for their help and for making my visit to Hungary with my family so special. It was a very special trip and one that we will all remember forever!!
Response from the operator: Dear Bodegad, Thank you very much for your fantastic review regarding your private tour. We are so happy that you were satisfied with the tour and the team. We hope to hear from you again, when you come back to Budapest! Best wishes, Boglárka Kaszás

Sweet Travel: Friendly, Knowledgeable and Easy to Work with.
Our first tour was the full-day Lake Balatan wine tour. Sweet Travel provided us a private coach for our group of eight. The driver was excellent as was the vehicle. Lake Balatan is ~75 minute drive from Budapest. When we first entered the Lake Balatan area we were a bit worried for our day as it wasn't that pretty or interesting. That soon changed with visits to the pennisula and some nice towns on the northshore. Try Echo on the pennisula...outstanding food and views. We visited Soptei winery, outstanding wines and tasting by the owner. I wish I could purchase Soptei wines in the US. We also visited Homola. Beautiful location and wines were very good. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Budapest for 3+ days. It gives you a chance to see more of the country, learn about their excellent wines and get a break from the city. Our 2nd tour was the Budapest Culinary Walking tour. This waas a nice way to see parts of the city which are a bit less traveled. We were able to taste some of the local street food: langos, chimmney cake; and local liquors. The large marketplace is somewaht like the Reading Terminal in Philly, but with Hungarian foods. Fun tip, we bought beautifully handcrafted wooden spoons and kitchen tools at a very reasonable price. The key for this tour was the walking and explanation of the sights by our guide. A fun way to take a walking tour with some local flavors added in. Our guide for both days, Gabor was wonderful. He is very well traveled, caters to your needs and is a great guide to interesting facts and sights not only in Budapest, but the country side too. He also leads tours in Iceland and other locations. Sweet Travel was also outstanding. I've used mnay private tours in other European cities. They are among the best in communicating, follow-up, providing an excellent guide and safe transport. Kata our contact point was very helpful...thank you for helping to make our trip to Hungary wonderul.
Response from the operator: Dear PA-Pathfinder, Thank you so much for this awesome review! It is great to read you were satisfied with our services. I have shared your nice feedback with Gabor. It has been a pleasure communicating with you in e-mails. We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back again for another great experience with us in Hungary! Best wishes, Kata Gyevát Dobó

One Fine Day
We did the full day private wine tour and was not disappointed. Gabor picked us up promptly at 0900 from the hotel . The drive was approximately 1.5 hours from the city center. He asked if we had our swim suits with us as we would be able to take a dip in Lake Balaton if we chose. The day was perfect, from the first winery tour to the wine, lunch and a dip in Lake Balaton. We stopped in quaint Tihany for some exquisite views of the Lake. The lavender was in bloom for an added surprise. Sweet Travel provided prompt response to all communication. Our guide Gabor was very attention and knowledgable. A definite recommendation

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.
How much does Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest cost?
+
Prices start at $566 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.
Is Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lake Balaton Escape: Private Wine Tasting & Tihany from Budapest start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Budapest?
+
On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Budapest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Budapest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
