Felt like family
Honestly, if you get the chance to book a tour with Ian and his dad, Humberto, just do it. The two of them are a total blast. It completely tracks that Ian used to ride motorcycles and Humberto bulls, because they bring that same awesome, fun energy to the whole day. They took us out near Liberia for river tubing, a gorgeous waterfall, and a soak in the hot springs, and everything was handled so smoothly. But the absolute highlight was after the main tour when they took us right into the city for amazing, authentic Costa Rican food at a local spot we’d never have found as tourists. Felt less like a generic guided tour and more like hanging out with good local friends who know all the best spots. Can't recommend them enough!

We had an amazing day!...
We had an amazing day! The tubing was a relaxing start to a beautiful but at times intense hike to the falls. Worth every minute. Hot springs and mud bath was also a good time. Great lunch. Highly recommend!!

AMAZING Day! Best Tour Guides
SUCH a great day. Highlight was no doubt Jose and Ian. Both were absolutely fantastic. Super informative, friendly and gave us the full Pura Vida experience. The overall events were amazing too. Only minor feedback was the lazy tubing was a little too lazy for us; pretty much had to paddle to finish the quick little run. Could change in the rainy season, though it was a slow start. Other than that, the rope swing, cliff jumping, the hike, waterfall and hot springs were all 10/10. They were very flexible with timing and made sure we were comfortable the whole trip. Amazing people, amazing trip. Highly recommend.

A perfect day in Guanacaste!
We had the best time! Our guide was so knowledgeable and the private tour was perfect. It was a full day but not too difficult. One recommendation is to bring water shoes! We learned so much.

Amazing!
This was a great little adventure. It had a little bit of everything you would want on a waterhall hike. Rodrigo was also so fun, patient and encouraging throughout the trek. Diego our driver was very kind and informative. We highly recommend!

+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Flamingo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book La Leona Waterfall, Lazy River Tubing, Cliff Jumps & Hot Springs?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Flamingo can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Flamingo and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+
On Outty we rank every Playa Flamingo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flamingo, Guanacaste All Inclusive Catamaran Snorkel Adventure, Adventure Pass, Playa Flamingo Catamaran Tour with Snorkel, Lunch, Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Flamingo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Flamingo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
