Great Family Segway Experience to See San Diego

Our family had a GREAT 2-hour Segway tour of La Jolla yesterday with Jeff as our guide. We got to ride on both the streets and sidewalks (treated just like a pedestrian), and got to see some amazing ocean views, real estate and even the famous sea lions! Kenneth, the owner, was most accommodating in booking our 8-year-old twin boys with us (who did GREAT by the way – they even had smaller Segways for one of them). Everything was perfect and we would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to explore the La Jolla area by Segway! Thanks for the awesome experience!

Response from the operator: Dear Braun, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing Another Side Of San Diego Tours for your family’s La Jolla Segway adventure. We are absolutely delighted to hear that you and your twin boys had such a great time exploring the beautiful La Jolla coastline with Jeff. He is an outstanding guide who loves sharing the area’s incredible ocean views, local landmarks, and wildlife with our guests, and he will be thrilled to know how much your family enjoyed the experience. It was truly our pleasure to help make this special family outing possible and to ensure that everyone, including your young explorers, had the perfect equipment and guidance for a fun and safe ride. La Jolla is one of the most scenic parts of San Diego, and we are so glad that you were able to enjoy it with us on two wheels. If your travels ever bring you to other destinations, we would love to welcome you again with Another Side Of Los Angeles Tours, Another Side Of Las Vegas Tours, or our Maui adventures. Each location offers its own incredible experiences, but all are built on the same passion for five star service and unforgettable memories. Thank you again for your kind words and recommendation. We truly appreciate your support and hope to host you again soon for another amazing day of exploration. All The Best, Kenneth President & CEO

La Jolla Segway Tour was awesome

The La Jolla Segway Tour was awesome! We covered so much ground and were able to see the Sea Lions and Seals! Both areas were impressive. We also were able to watch semi-pro surfers, which was a treat. I felt like the tour gave me a good idea of La Jolla. Amy is fabulous and gave us great recommendations for where to eat and what to do. This tour is a fun way to see La Jolla!

Response from the operator: Dear nav386, Wow - I'm truly impressed and grateful that you've experienced our Coronado e-bike tour, Gaslamp Segway tour, AND La Jolla Segway tour! Your trust in us to show you so many different facets of San Diego means the world to our team. The La Jolla tour is indeed special with those incredible marine life encounters - there's nothing quite like seeing the seals and sea lions in their natural habitat! And catching those skilled surfers in action is always a highlight. I'm delighted that Amy continued to provide excellent guidance and those valuable local recommendations that help make your entire San Diego visit more memorable. As a guest who has experienced so many of our San Diego tours, I'd love to personally invite you to check out our tours in Los Angeles and Las Vegas on your future travels. Your adventurous spirit and enthusiasm for exploring would be welcome at any of our locations! Warmest regards, Kenneth CEO, Another Side Tours, Inc.

    Tour of Coronado

This was a great tour of the Island and some of San Diego. Adam was our tour guide. He was terrific. Another side was less expensive than some other Segway tours and yet was complete and comprehensive. Make sure you get Adam as your guide. He was the best.

    Worth the $$

Fantastic Segway adventure and perfect way to experience so much of La Jolla in a concise and fun way. Our tour guide Adam was super friendly- was able to get my shy teen to interact, very knowledgeable-from natural flora and fauna, to local history, and local food suggestions. Tour was tailored to our interests, which was a plus. Also shout out to Adam for working on a day off/coming in last minute and to Kenny and the company for going out of their way to accommodate us!

La Jolla Segway Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Jolla.

How much does La Jolla Segway Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $199 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Jolla usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does La Jolla Segway Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Jolla is not rushed.

Is La Jolla Segway Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Jolla, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule La Jolla Segway Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is La Jolla Segway Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book La Jolla Segway Tour?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Jolla can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Jolla and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does La Jolla Segway Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Jolla within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in La Jolla?

    +

La Jolla is San Diego's best water day: kayak tours into the sea caves, snorkelling with leopard sharks in the ecological reserve, coastal walks with sea lions and sunset sails. On Outty we rank every La Jolla experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cali Dreaming Electric Bike Tour of La Jolla and Pacific Beach, Incredible Slot Canyons to the Pacific, SoCal Riviera Electric Bike Tour of La Jolla and Mount Soledad. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit La Jolla?

    +

June to September for warm water, year-round for kayaking. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in La Jolla?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
