Costa Rica and One with Nature will change your life
I had the honor of exploring San Jose, La Fortuna/ Arenal Volcano, and Tamarindo with guide Marvin of One with Nature and driver Jonny. I was part of a sober group of travelers, many of whom (including me) had never been to Costa Rica before. I have however been on a guided tour or two; specifically an English language literature tour (Great Britain, Ireland), and a cooking and natural textile tour of Oaxaca, Mexico. Come to Costa Rica if you want to experience nature, see lush green landscapes, and want to see a little of everything Costa Rican - if you travel by bus you will have plenty of picturesque photos to take home. Your tour guide can really make or break this experience - do they know Costa Rica like they grew up there? Do they care about the animals and wildlife so you can view from safe distances, feeling confident you're not bringing harm to the animals or the native plants? Book with One with Natures. Trust me. Every single member of our tour group, who ranges in age from 20s through 40s and beyond, still RAVE about Marvin and Costa Rica months later. Marvin is so knowledgeable, thoughtful, and the perfect Costa Rican ambassador - book with him immediately! You will thank me. Now I only interacted with Marvin and Jonny, but I trust that the whole team is amazing. I intend to return to Costa Rica with my son so he can maybe catch his own monkey or toucan sighting, and I WILL be booking with this tour group again. I can go on if you need more: I'm a bird watcher in particular, so when I announced in our intro meeting that my goal was to catch a least one new bird on the Merlin Bird ID app, Marvin replied that his special area of interest was birds and he was confident we would meet this goal. The skies opened up, trumpets played behind my ears, I was temporarily blinded by the beauty that is MARVIN. On Lake Arenal, we had one of the moments that they capture for meditation apps: our group had all canoed or paddle boarded out into the lake, and it started raining, so Marvin had us all sit and meditate and feel the rain on our skin. I got to live the Natasha Bedingfield song, friends! Book it. When we did our Arenal Volcano National Park hike, Marvin answered any and every question I had about flora and fauna - he is extremely knowledgeable in English, so I imagine he's even better (how could it be possible?!) in Spanish. He indulged our predominantly female group in taking all the photos we wanted. We were absolutely blessedly lucky to get to spy a sloth, a toucan, a coati, some small monkeys up in trees, so much wildlife! Now Marvin can tell you exactly which ones you will see. It is only me the reviewer who does not remember the names. I also want to be purposeful about respecting the land, the animals, and everything native to a place I am visiting. So you will almost certainly get to see amazing wildlife in Costa Rica! And I think a good guide will be clear with you about what is likely and where the best spots might be to catch respectful glimpses of our sister species while behaving responsibly, with local and global impact in mind. One with Natures is the Real Deal TM. I promise you. I can't say too much about cost because I booked through a group, so the cost was folded into that for me, but whatever their cost is, it's worth double what they're charging.

One of the Best Student Trips We've Ever Taken
We just returned from an excellent student trip to Costa Rica organized by One with nature. Two other teachers and I traveled with ten students, and everything was extremely well organized. Our guide, Marvin, was outstanding and knew exactly how to engage the group. We hiked, swam, planted trees and coral, cooked meals, and even made cocoa products and hot chocolate from scratch. I have been traveling with students for mor than 35 years, and Marvin is one of the best guides I have encountered. Highly recommended!

How long does La Fortuna's 3 Essentials Private Tour take?
+

Is La Fortuna's 3 Essentials Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Fortuna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule La Fortuna's 3 Essentials Private Tour?
+

+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Fortuna can sell out a month out. Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Fortuna and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit La Fortuna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in La Fortuna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
