Great experience!

Great experience and would definitely recommend for anyone that is going to be in Bogota. I was doing a layover for an afternoon, and decided to book this walking tour which was tons of fun. A driver picked me up from my location, and did the drop-off as well, and that made things very easy and sufficient. I was traveling solo, so it ended up being a tour between myself and the guide - Lorena. Lorena was amazing! It honestly felt like I was doing a tour with a friend that new everything about the capital. We walked all over the Candelaria, tried different fruit, teas, and chocolates. We saw the art museum and had a grandiose time. Overall, the experience was about 3 hours, and tons of fun. Would definitely recommend. Huge shout-out to Lorena and the team.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled you made the most of your layover and had such a fun time exploring Bogotá with Lorena. We love hearing that the tour felt like discovering the city with a knowledgeable friend. We'll be sure to share your kind words with Lorena and the team!

A SPRINT Tour of Bogotá’s Historic Sites.

We booked a private tour for a reason—to be at our own pace while keeping within the 3-hr tour timeframe that included the 1-hr round trip from/to the hotel. While our tour guide Emilio seemed nice and very knowledgeable, we felt we were being rushed the whole time. He was mostly walking about 40-50 meters ahead of us, which we felt was rude. I had to call his attention several times to make him slow down, specially when it’s raining and parts of the surfaces we were walking on were wet and slippery. Though my wife walks with a cane and has some knee issues, she and I still walk a good pace as we’ve done short 3-hour tours before. Rushed walking made it dangerous for my wife who had to navigate some uneven surfaces on wet condition, but Emilio didn’t seem to care even after we called his attention several times. Also consider that we’re at a high elevation, so trying to catch up with him wasn’t easy at all. But we shouldn’t have to do the catching up. We were on a private tour! Emilio also kept looking at his watch as if he’d rather be somewhere else or have to be somewhere, which we did find out from him he had to go somewhere. We never really got to enjoy the sights posted on the itinerary, and took very few pictures because Emilio seemed like he wanted to do something else and we had to coax him to take a picture of us. We had to return to some of the sites on our own just so we can enjoy the sites we passed by and take pictures. We are on a 5-country South American trip and booked all private tours. This is the only one we felt rushed and didn’t enjoy at all. I tipped him nonetheless because we believe in treating people nice. Save your $100 and do the tour on your own. Researching the history and significance of the sites should to suffice if you want to learn more about the place.

La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.

How much does La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation cost?

+

Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.

Is La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 175 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation?

+

Around 61 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does La Candelaria Bogotá Private City Tour 3H with Transportation start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bogotá?

+

On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria., Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Viejo Bogota Food Tour with 12+ Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bogotá?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bogotá?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
