Highly recommended
We did a custom tour and Show also took us to a summer festival at a sanctuary. She took us to a restaurant to try local specialties and gave us recommendations for other days. Fantastic

Tour with Shohei
Shohei was a great guide. He picked us up from our hotel which was wonderful and we went on a tour of Kyoto that gave us an insight into the beauty of the town. He even drove out of his way to show us the early spring cherry blossoms, which were gorgeous . We visited one of the castles because of my interest in art that had painted wall panels and was breathtaking. I highly recommend him. He paced the tour at our rate and he found us a place to have lunch when the first place had been booked out that was wonderfully Japanese. He was charming, kind, and respectful . I highly recommend him.

A Perfect Day in Kyoto!
This was such a WONDERFUL way to see Kyoto on our own terms. Shohei was our guide and he let us select where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see (and we had a long list). We were able to travel at our own pace and visit sights that were most appealing to us. Shohei, being a resident of Kyoto, knew the city and how to navigate easily from place to place, allowing us easy access to many locations without excessive walking. He also suggested a most excellent non-touristy restaurant for lunch popular with local residents. We were able to cover A LOT of territory and see MANY sights but in a non-hurried way. This was a perfect day in Kyoto!

+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kyoto Private Full Day Tour by Car?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
