I'm very happy with that. I want to participate again.
He was over 70 years old, so he was anxious to keep up with his first bike tour, but he was very happy to enjoy the whole journey. It made me realize that there are ways to enjoy it. I would like to thank you again for your careful preparation and experienced leaders. I would love to participate if I had the opportunity again. Thank you for providing such wonderful memories.

I was able to feel the thoughts of the people who created Kyoto through a brazen walk through history that I took by bicycle. We were blessed with great weather and were able to enjoy it 100%. The guide's (good-looking w) voice is good, so it was easy to hear explanations of highlights. I wanted to participate again. Thank you very much.

Give it a go!
As a family of four (56, 55, 19 16) we were extremely pleased with the way all communication was handled. Our guide Takashi met us at the station and then we were on our way. Sadly due to the Typhoon, the bike ride was not going to happen. We were forewarned and we just took our chances on the day, even though we were given another day to go or to cancel free of charge we chose to go ahead and try. We got our steps up and were whisked away to a beautiful shrine in the forest with NO TOURISTS, what a treat! We ate soba noodles and tempura for lunch, found snacks at local markets and shared stories with Takashi. Takashi studied in America, so his English was amazing and put us to shame with our very limited Japanese of hello and thankyou! We would definitely try our luck again, hopefully no Typhoon weather in sight next time!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for joining us on the Higashiyama Tour yesterday despite the rain! Although we were unable to visit some of the planned locations and the rain became heavier, it was truly wonderful to enjoy the city of Kyoto together with everyone. We hope to see you again on your next visit to Japan for a full-scale slow cycling tour. Please continue to enjoy your time in Japan!

An ideal way to experience Kyoto away from the crowds
What a wonderful way to see the sights of Kyoto. We loved our tour with Takashi-san and Brompton slow cycling. The bikes were surprisingly comfortable and easy to maneuver. And Takashi, our guide, was very pleasant and well-informed. He took us to many beautiful, interesting sights away from the crowds which made our time in Kyoto so much more enjoyable and worthwhile. And as an added bonus, the fresh air and exercise allowed us to have the best sleep we've had since arriving in Japan. This tour is definitely a winner.
Response from the operator: We are very happy that you chose our tour for your first visit to Japan. Kyoto is a crowded city, but we are glad that you enjoyed our slow cycling tour. We look forward to touring with you again when you visit Japan. Thank you very much for your time!

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking part in our BROMPTON Slow Cycling Tour! We are glad you could enjoy Kyoto with us in the perfect season and with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. If you come to Japan again, please let us show you some of the other fascinating places we have to offer.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.
How much does Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront cost?
+
Prices start at $19800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.
Is Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kyoto: Higashiyama Slow Cycling Tour along the quiet waterfront start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
