About this experience
The Fushimi district is not about the famous "Fushimi Inari" and its thousand gates. It is about learning more about one of the most significant moments in Japanese history and exploring an area in Kyoto that hasn't been conquered by international travelers and still keeps its authenticity and reflects an amazing local vibe just a few minutes away from Kyoto station. Pour garantir la disponibilité du guide francophone à la date souhaitée, veuillez nous contacter à l'avance, afin que nous puissions confirmer qu'un guide francophone est toujours disponible pour votre date de réservation. The most beautifully-curated and authentic Kyoto tour for tourists, culture and history nerds!!!
My partner and I did this tour with Remy today. He is SO knowledgeable, accommodating and passionate about history. This tour is perfectly curated for tourists who want to experience true Kyoto culture (and great cheap food!) on top of the classic touristy destinations. Remy knew the perfect spots to get photos inside Fushimi Inari (without being stuck in crowds at all!!) and the rest of the tour was at destinations outside of classic overpriced tourism spots (and therefore no crowds!!) but filled with the most incredible authentic Kyoto experiences and history, and beautiful social-media worthy scenic spots that we never would have discovered ourselves! 🥰 It is clear the amount of care and consideration that the Japan Tour Adventure team has put into this tour, forging relationships with local Kyoto historical sites owners and earning a well-deserved reputation as a kind, respectful tour agency that just wants to show the best parts of Kyoto to everyone ❤️ My partner and I cannot recommend Japan Tour Adventure (especially Remy) enough. By far the best tour of our Japan experience. 1000000/5 ⭐️
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review — reading your words truly made our day! ✨ We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that your tour with Remi became such a highlight of your Japan trip. Remi will be overjoyed to know how much you appreciated his deep knowledge, passion for Kyoto’s history, and the care he puts into creating meaningful, crowd-free experiences. Our team works hard to build genuine relationships with local communities and to curate routes that blend iconic landmarks with authentic cultural gems — so it means the world to us that you felt that care throughout your day. We’re also delighted that you enjoyed the beautiful viewpoints, peaceful hidden spots, and delicious local food that make Kyoto so special. Hearing that you rate the experience 1000000/5 absolutely warms our hearts! 🥰 Thank you again for choosing Japan Tour Adventure and for sharing such generous praise. We would be honored to welcome you back anytime for another memorable adventure. Warmest wishes from all of us ❤️⛩️📸 Ayumi / JTA Team

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.
How much does Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $9000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.
Is Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kyoto Fushimi District Food and History Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
