    FABULOUS

It is no coincidence that it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.... Kinkakuji temple dedicated to the Buddhist goddess of Mercy. Truly enchanting also for the context in which it was placed in the middle of this wonderful forest that colors according to the various seasons. The scenery is incredible, also thanks to the magic created by the reflections of the temple on the surrounding lake.

    Overcrowded and not very authentic.

Nice setting, but the pagoda itself seems a bit too shiny for Zen Buddhist philosophy. Also, it is replica of the original pagoda which burned down in 1955. Finally - it is extremely overcrouded. All peace this place is designed to bring is lost by allowing uncontrolled amount of people to be admitted in the same time.
