Nijo Castle
A World Heritage site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for the Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace. The impressive, elaborate carvings and decors in the Ninomaru Palace are a must-see. The tour will not enter the Honmaru Palace and Painting Gallery. Kyoto Imperial Palace
See the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which was used as the Emperor's residence until about 150 years ago. On days when the Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed to visitors, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (disembark for sightseeing) as an alternative destination. This shrine is famous for the god of learning, and its main hall is a designated national treasure. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons. Good coverage of sights
Saw all of the major sights in Kyoto after train journey from Osaka. Guide very knowledgeable but gave too much detailed information and talked while we walked and so it was difficult to hear everything as we were a group of around 40. could have done with 2 groups of 20 to make things easier.

Good place to see garden and inner part of the castle.
It takes time to go through the all parts of the castle but the weather is nice one can enjoy the castle in side and out side. But the you have to be in by 3.30pm.

Not recommendable at all!
The guide rushes through the monuments (doesn't wait for everyone to explain sites). She gives poor or irrelevant information ("There was no electricity in the 16th Century" - Really?). Also she is constantly nagging people without reason (repeating the same things over and over again). Her English is difficult to understand. Lunch is awful!
