About this experience
The coastline of Kvarner Bay is peppered with beautiful towns and historic locations. On this tour, you'll visit two of its most eye-catching spots – the pretty coastal village of Lovran and the cosmopolitan seaside resort of Opatija. Josip, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Known for its pastel-coloured villas and botanical gardens, Opatija was the place to be seen in the Austro-Hungarian Empire's golden age. Take a stroll along the Lungomare in the footsteps of many kings and emperors from the olden days.'

What you'll see and do
Lovran
First up, we'll visit pretty Lovran. There's free time to explore the narrow streets and churches in the old quarter. Lovran developed as a tourist destination in the late 19th century, when several grand hotels and secessionist villas sprang up. It was one of the top resorts in what was then known as the Austrian Riviera. Wander around the vegetation-fringed old town, see the tiny marina and enjoy a tasting of local specialities accompanied by traditional live music.

Opatija
Next up is the elegant resort of Opatija. It was a simple fishing village, until the aristocracy arrived in the mid-19th century and began building opulent villas and hosting royalty for winter holidays, to take the mild sea air. Today, the historic grandeur is still evident. Josip says, ‘Soak up the regal atmosphere in the Park Angiolina, which surrounds the first holiday villa built here, or on the seaside promenade. Take some time to browse the market, too, where you can get a flavour of local life.'

Gorgeous coast!
This is a gorgeous part of the Istrian coast…not to be missed! Mauro was a wonderful guide with tons of interesting facts about the area. It was an 8 hour day so not really a half day tour. I would bring snacks or lunch next time!

Great Day Out
Opatija was just beautiful. Spent the day there waling around the beautiful manicured gardens and visited a chocolate factory where we tasted the best chocolate ever. Did this as a tour which made it easy to navigate. Part of the tour we also went to Micenice, a beautifil little town.
Response from the operator: Dear traveller, thank you for giving us 5 stars. We are happy to hear you had a great day with us. Sunny greetings from our team in Gulliver travel

Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pula.
How much does Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties cost?
+
Prices start at $94 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pula usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pula is not rushed.
Is Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pula, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pula can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pula and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kvarner Bay Tour with Opatija, Lovran and Local Specialties start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pula within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pula?
+
On Outty we rank every Pula experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Medulin-Kamenjak 5h boat trip ALL-INCLUSIVE drinks on Sandra Boat, Medulin: All-Inclusive Pirate Boat Tour to Kamenjak Cave & Levan, KAYAK & SNORKEL ADVENTURE - Sea Caves & Wild Coast Exploring. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pula?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pula?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
