    Great experience

It was a very nice tour. Take was an excellent guide. We enjoyed each of the wineries and the visit to the beach, though the gannets were not in season. Would repeat and recommend.

Response from the operator: Dear Richard, Thank you very much for your kind review! We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and had a great time ‼ We're especially happy to hear that Take made a positive impression—he’ll be delighted to know he helped make your day special. Although the gannets weren't in season this time, we hope you’ll come back again to see them in their full glory. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we’d be thrilled to welcome you on another tour in the future. Kind Regards, Anna

A waste of time and money

not good at all. the tour started at 10 am , it was supposed to last 3 hour 40 min. we hag the "gourmet " lunch (a pizza ) at 11 am when we just a little bit earlier had breakfast. i mentioned an intolerance and the pizza has the ingredient that i mentioned as intolerant to . Then the wine tasting itself where bland with no interest , usually when you do wine tasting the people in charge are passionate about wine , they just pour the wine at that's it . not even a cracker to have with the wine . really dont wasre your time and money , the best was the visit to the beach to see the Tasmanian see

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. You mentioned that you informed us about your dietary restrictions, but after reviewing all our correspondence, we found no record of any communication regarding dietary requirements. Although the meal had already been arranged, we went out of our way to accommodate your dietary restrictions by arranging an additional meal at our expense. Our efforts to do our best on the day, as described, were not mentioned in your review, so we wanted to take this opportunity to share this. The pizza provided has been highly rated by many of our guests, and it is unfortunate that it did not suit your taste. Regarding the timing of lunch, the durations for each stop are listed in the tour description, and it is noted that lunch takes place at the second stop. However, we acknowledge that the "exact time" was not clearly stated, which may have caused some confusion. Additionally, it is standard practice in New Zealand wineries not to serve crackers or other accompaniments during wine tastings. This may differ from practices in other regions, and we appreciate your understanding. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the visit to the Tasman Sea at least. Thank you.

Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.

How much does Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views cost?

    +

Prices start at $182 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.

Is Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kumeu Wine Tasting & Local Flavours Tour: Vines, Brews & Views start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Auckland?

    +

On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Auckland?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Auckland?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
