  2. Kuang Si Falls

From the main entrance to waterfall paradise, a short walk through the forest surrounding Kuang Si is home to a unique sustainable project – Laos’ leading bear conservation centre. Under the supervision of leading bear experts and volunteers, a non-profit centre has been established in Laos to protect the Asian bear population from extinction as a result of ongoing poaching of these furry animals. The falls begin in shallow pools atop a steep hillside which leads to the main fall with a 50-meter, three-tiered cascade. The many cascades that result are typical of travertine waterfalls with beautiful scenery with an abundance of flora and fauna surround the area. A picnic lunch will be served with the sounds of water crashing down as your luncheon’s background tunes.

  3. Laos Buffalo Dairy

In the afternoon, and only a 10-minute drive from Kuang Si, we head out to a community-supported project that revolves all around the buffalo. Still seen as one of the driving factors in the Laotian farmer's world, these gentle animals have proven to be behind one of the successes of Laos’ role in the agricultural sector. The afternoon is filled with activities surrounding the life of the buffalo and its multi-functional role in the agricultural industry. Local entrepreneurs have included other activities for visitors, including an extensive dairy farm and factory, a small farm with other animals, and a shop where proceedings from sales go straight back into the Lao Buffalo Dairy Farm. After this visit, we drive back to Luang Prabang and expect to reach your hotel lobby at around 4 pm.

How far in advance should I book Kuang Si Waterfalls & Lao Buffalo Dairy Farm?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Luang Prabang and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Luang Prabang?

+

On Outty we rank every Luang Prabang experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Luang Prabang: Cruise to Pak Ou Caves & Kuang Si Waterfalls, Mekong Meals Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, FULL DAY – Kuang Si Waterfall, Kayak on the Nam Ou / Mekong River, Pak Ou Caves. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Luang Prabang?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Luang Prabang?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
