A must see excursion
Wow! What an amazing tour. The Konami Lake and the Shala river were a sight I will never forget. The organisation of the tour and our tour Guide (Lola) were exceptional. From the minute we booked we were given very clear details of where to meet and what to expect. Lola provided us with her contact details “just in case”. She was very knowledgeable about Albania and made the tour fun. Highly recommend this excursion with Viatours, a must when visiting Albania!

All right.
We were very excited for this trip, and with good courage when we entered the bus that would take us to the boats. The bus left from Durres at 5:30 so it's early. Stans for breakfast in Tirana.(bad food) asked if we could stop at one bakery for the other place had nothing really. It wasn't the menu either. Got purchased at one bakery near that cafe. The trip continued by bus until we arrived at Komani Lake. Several had to piss so the guide showed us some provisional toilets without doors(pissed in the open landscape) not pleasant. Put us in the boats expecting something spectacular, but for one sad sight, there was so much garbage on the water that I told the guide why. He owed it to us tourists so I was sorry because I know that pollination is a problem here in Albania. We sat in the boat for about 1 hour before we arrived at the shala river, much better here with completely clear water so we could swim. Restaurants were there on the square by the shala river so food was no problem. Should be there for about 3 hours before traveling the same way back. Get us on the boats again, on the bus towards Tirana, in a sick rucht traffic, it took us 5 hours to get back to durres. All in all a simple but laaaaaangtruckken day. Lovely space but as mentioned, so one sad sight really. Take me your bathing clothes and water to wear on the bus ☀️☀️☀️

A must-do to feast your eyes.
Great, the guide was super nice! It is clear that he loves what he does. On the other hand. Shala River is not a place to swim; it is very beautiful, but the water is freezing!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tirana.
How much does Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tirana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem take?
+
Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tirana is not rushed.
Is Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tirana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tirana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Komani Lake and Shala River Day Tour from Tirana Durres and Golem start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tirana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tirana?
+
On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, Kruja castle, the old Bazaar & Sarisalltik- Departure from Tirana. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tirana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tirana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
