Program is wrong and bad form of mass tourism

We didn't get what we were promised. We booked especially with this organization because of snorkeling and kayaking besides visiting the Viewpoint. Upon arrival, however, it turned out that we could choose between visiting the Viewpoint or kayaking, so this is not stated correctly in the program. No matter which organization you book with, all travelers are lumped together. Ang Thong is a beautiful park, but this is mass tourism in its worst form. 15 min. snorkeling with 150-200 people on 200 m2. In the traffic jam on the steps to the Viewpoint. At Emerald Lake, nature is drowned out by a loud generator, because the ice creams must of course stay cold. Not recommended.

Response from the operator: Dank u voor uw feedback.

Koh Samui to Marine Park Via Speedboat

This is a great intro tour to decide which island and activities you want to spend more time exploring later. There is a lot packed into this excursion for the price: Hotel pick-up/return, light breakfast, snorkeling, multiple island visits, free photos and lunch. My only complaints are (1) you need to purchase water shoes from the crew or bring your own (didn't know) and (2) you need good quality hiking shoes for the optional climbing. I had off-brand Keen-types that worked well luckily. The first climb is steep (1400 meters) with rest stops and the second (lagoon) has very steep steps.

    Boat and snorkeling overcrowded

I had been looking forward to views of the park from the speedboat. As it turned out the boat had only small high windows and we had to sit on side benches facing inwards without any view. It was slightly windy so the sea was a bit rough, but we drove so fast the waves were quite uncomfortable and people were sick on the way out and back. Having 29 people in the boat was also a bit of a stretch, felt like a crowded bus. At the snorkeling site there were roughly 80 tourists in a small area so I had to focus on not bumping into anyone. It was well organised and the guides were fun, but for the price of around 65 Euros pp I would have liked a bit more comfort and exclusivity.

    Amazing trip

This trip was really great. First snorkelling behind the marine park, you can see some fish and corals, not the most amazing snorkelling but still good. Then at the marine park you have time to do what you want so we walked up to the viewpoint which has amazing views. It is quite a tricky, long walk and very sweaty in the heat but stop or view points on the way. The lunch afterwards on a small island made by locals was amazing with Thai green curry, soup, vegetables, fried chicken and shrimp. They also cater for vegetarians which is great. The lagoon afterwards is an amazing view too. The staff were all so kind and allowed enough time at each destination. They also took lots of pictures throughout the trip which they don’t try and charge you for which is great! I would really really recommend!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Koh Samui.

How much does Koh Phaluai and Ang Thong Marine Park Tour by Speedboat from Koh Samui cost?

    +

Prices start at $68 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Koh Samui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Koh Phaluai and Ang Thong Marine Park Tour by Speedboat from Koh Samui take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Koh Samui is not rushed.

Is Koh Phaluai and Ang Thong Marine Park Tour by Speedboat from Koh Samui worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Koh Samui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Koh Phaluai and Ang Thong Marine Park Tour by Speedboat from Koh Samui?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Koh Phaluai and Ang Thong Marine Park Tour by Speedboat from Koh Samui suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Koh Phaluai and Ang Thong Marine Park Tour by Speedboat from Koh Samui?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Koh Samui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Koh Samui and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Koh Phaluai and Ang Thong Marine Park Tour by Speedboat from Koh Samui start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Koh Samui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Koh Samui?

    +

On Outty we rank every Koh Samui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angthong National Marine Park VIP Small Group Tour, Cooking Class in Koh Samui with Micro Organic Garden, Half Day Elephant Home Sanctuary in Samui. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Koh Samui?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Koh Samui?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
