Engaging, fulfilling local brewery tour

I have been in the vicinity several times, without a clue what a treasured and meaningful experience there is to be discovered here! For those in Kobe, I think this is one of those places that should be on the visit list. I’m so glad we went with a tour guide, because we got to enjoy brewery hopping and sake tastings without any stress. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and helped us connect with the local atmosphere with ease. It was really fun to experience different types of breweries, and seeing the historical exhibitions housed at one impressive and beautiful building really helped us understand the process and pride that goes into sake brewing. Ending at the restaurant, after a good long walking tour and being a bit tipsy, was really well planned. We sat down for a very nice meal that infused sake in most of the dishes. Super delicious! Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re happy that the brewery visits, tastings, historical exhibits, and sake-inspired lunch gave you a deeper experience of Kobe’s sake culture. It was a pleasure sharing this special local area with you, and we truly appreciate your recommendation!

More than just a sake tasting

We had a private sake tour with a lovely local guide, and it was a wonderful experience. We visited three breweries, and although it was not our first time trying sake, learning about the brewing process and the details of this traditional craft from a local guide made it a completely different experience. The museum is very thorough and shows the brewing process really well, but having a guide made it even more interesting. We could ask questions and learn about many details we probably would have missed on our own. The tour was private, and our guide was so friendly and welcoming that we felt comfortable right away. The four hours passed very quickly, and we felt it was a great value for the time. The sake tasting and lunch afterwards were also very enjoyable. We were lucky to taste some unpasteurized sake as part of the tasting that day, which was a really nice bonus. We had a great time learning about Japanese traditions while chatting about modern Japanese culture, cuisine and drinking habits. A very memorable experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted that your guide’s insights made the breweries and sake making traditions come alive, and that you enjoyed the tastings, lunch, and special unpasteurized sake. It was a pleasure sharing both traditional and modern Japanese culture with you in our hometown Kobe. We hope to welcome you again!

Wonderful sake brewery tour

Wonderful sake brewery tour. The guides were so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed tasting the different kinds of sake and learning about the process of making it. The food was great too! I would highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re happy that you enjoyed the sake tastings, learning about the brewing process, and the food along the way. We also enjoyed a lot chatting with you. We always hope our guests feel like they’re exploring Kobe with a local friend rather than simply joining a tour😊 Thank you for recommending our tour, and we hope to welcome you back to Japan again someday with different activities as well!

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
