Home Cooking in Kobe!
Wow…; what a great cooking experience with Azumi in Kobe. Making ramen and gyoza was a highlight of our trip in Kobe. She also has classes in Osaka. And.., we were able to enjoy everything we made as our lunch. Her hospitality was awesome.

Highly recommended cooking course
This cooking class was an absolute highlight of our stay in Japan. The hostess is very friendly, likeable and does her job with enthusiasm. She showed us how to prepare Gyoza (also the dough) and ramen and what to pay special attention to. Good quality was taken care of in the ingredients and the result was just top. Certainly one of the best things we ate in Japan and made it ourselves. The hostess explained everything to us and also told us exciting things about Japan and about her life. Highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic, fun cooking class.
Response from the operator: Hi, thank you so much for your review!! I enjoyed the time with you guys. You gave me a lot of energy! Wishing you a bright and shining future. May the memories you made here in Japan stay with you forever! Ayumi

A great family experience
I did the cooking class with my parents, who were visiting us in Japan. It was a great experience and mum recently mentioned how it was one of her favourite activities from their visit. Ayumi is such a great teacher and the recipes she uses are really simple and easy to follow and ones I’d feel confident to cook on my own, after the class. I learnt a lot of tips and useful information.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words!! I’m glad to hear that. It was truly a good time together with you and your parents:) Arigato!

Fun and delicious. A delightful cooking lesson with hands-on learning.
Instructor was friendly and very well organized. She welcomed questions about the cooking and demonstrated techniques that we practiced. She also told us something of her life as well. The skills she taught will forever improve our goyza making. We were inspired by her ramen recipe as well. The food we cooked and ate was delicious.
Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you so much for your review:) It was really fun to cook and chat with you two. I'm glad you liked the recipes!! Please enjoy making them again. Have a safe travel!! Ayumi

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kobe.
How much does Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class cost?
+
Prices start at $8800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kobe usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class take?
+
Plan for about 2.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kobe is not rushed.
Is Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kobe, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 2.8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kobe can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kobe and add a light layer if any part of the 2.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kobe Home Cooking Ramen and Gyoza Cooking Class start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kobe within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kobe?
+
On Outty we rank every Kobe experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kobe Sake Tour with Expert Guide: 3+ Breweries, Tastings Included, Kobe: 100% Personalized Tour with Local Student Guide, Kobe Customized Half-Day Tour with Licensed Local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kobe?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kobe?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
