Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park
10.00am meet and greet our friendly English Speaking Driver at the hotel lobby and proceed for your tour and You will be picked-up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle and take a tour through the Kuala Lumpur City. The park is beautifully landscaped with myriads of lush greenery and colorful flowers. There are also a nursery and breeding area where you can see the butterfly larvae emerging as butterflies from their cocoons. Other than these butterflies of various colors and sizes, there are also insects on display. Among the insects on display are the rhinoceros beetles and the praying mantises. The park tries to imitate the tropical forests, which is the natural habitat of its butterflies, as much as possible. Even the net used to keep the butterflies inside the park has a height that provides sufficient flight area for these beautiful creatures to fly around.

Now we start the Free Cultural City Tour: TUGU NEGARA (NATIONAL MONUMENT), SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING, MASJID JAMEK and DATARAN MERDEKA (MERDEKA SQUARE). TUGU NEGARA (NATIONAL MONUMENT) Situated overlooking the KL Lake gardens, the huge bronze monument was built to pay tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives defending the country during the Communist Insurgency in 1950s. The National Monument was designed by Felix de Weldon, the architect of the famous Iwo Jima Memorial

SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING Sultan Abdul Samad Building one of the city’s most enduring attractions, Built in 1897, the building is said to have been the finest in the Malay states. It features an imposing porch, graceful horseshoe shaped arches, shiny copper domes and a 41.2 metre clock tower. The Ground Floor of this building house a Tourist Information Centre.

Jamek Mosque
MASJID JAMEK Built in 1909, masjid Jamek is the city’s oldest surviving mosque. It features design elements that are that are inspired by the Mogul architecture I Northern India. Cupolas and minarets top the brick walls and arched colonnades, while a 70 feet domes surmounts the prayer hall. This mosque occupies historic location at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers, which is the birth place of Kuala Lumpur.

DATARAN MERDEKA (MERDEKA SQUARE) Dataran Merdeka is the one of the most important heritage sites in the city. The Union jack was lowered to mark the country’s independence from colonial rule. Hence the name dataran Merdeka, which means ‘Independence Square’. Activities in the area include free heritage guided walks, and KL ByCycle tours. Don't bother
Not worth visiting. Very few butterfly's and in need of serious upgrade as the paths and steps were dangerous in parts. Apparently it doesn't get many visitors and I can see why

Don't bother! Reminds me of Piss Weak World!
Thoroughly disappointing, $10AUD for what seemed like 20 mins of rundown gardens, some dilapated fish tanks and very few butterfly's. Taxidermy at the end end was good as well as the live insect displays. Luckily I did the bird park ( which was fantastic) first and then walked down to the butterfly park last, would've been disappointing if I had done it in reverse. At least it was a spot for a Geab pick up/drop off so I could get the he'll out of there. Also, it's cash only and staff weren't very friendly.

Take Time To Visit The Butterfly Park
Take time to visit the Butterfly Park while in Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the variety of butterflies in the middle of the city. They have created a rainforest habitat with a maze of footpaths winding through lush vegetation, across bridges over koi ponds, past waterfalls, gazebos and turtle ponds. They also had a collection of beetles, stick insects and other insects, millipedes, etc. that we checked as well.

Was average. Not great
There were a few butterflies but not too many. The bigger butterflies were high in the canopy so could not see them It was not so expensive to get in do it was ok

It small but a great experience to see the butterflies up close. Good value for money. Great pictures taken. Very close to the bird park too.
