Great way to see the Windmills of Kinderdijk

This was a wonderful way to see the windmills. I was lucky to get Marco as my guide. And I was the only one in his group for the day. He was very sincere in making sure that this experience was tailored to what I wanted. I chose to use an ebike for this tour. I'm a 60ish y/o woman in fairly good shape but having the ebike made for a perfect experience. The route is fairly flat but you will be on the bike for several hours. We stopped to view a windmill and learned so much about the history of windmills and the surrounding area (be prepared to climb steep ladders and be comfortable in a tight space)! Also stopped and had a quick bite to eat then back on the bike to see more windmills. Marco stopped a few times to make sure we took good pictures (he's a very good photographer so knows how to make each picture look special). Overall this was one of the highlights of my two week vacation to Europe. It helped that it was a beautiful sunny fall day!

One of the top things to do in the Netherlands!

Fantastic tour of areas you rarely get to see. Helped to work a windmill and climb inside to the top, cycled through meadows with cows and canals, tasted local Gouda. Couldn’t have had a better tour of local Kinderdyjk countryside.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Friend we really appreciate it very much your feedback, I means a lot for us, have a nice day.

    Bike tour at Kinderdijk

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Day in Kinderdijk Our bike tour of Kinderdijk with Arjan was such a beautiful way to end our visit to the Netherlands. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and gave us the opportunity to experience the stunning Dutch countryside in such a unique way. The scenery was spectacular — cycling alongside the canals, taking in the beautiful countryside and, of course, the iconic windmills. We were incredibly lucky to have such a personal tour of one of the windmills, which made the experience even more special. We also really enjoyed our visit to the cheese factory, and Arjan’s wealth of knowledge throughout the day added so much to the experience. He was friendly, informative and clearly passionate about the area and its history. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day from start to finish and a wonderful way to see a different side of the Netherlands. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area — an unforgettable experience! 🚲🇳🇱💚

Response from the operator: Dear Alison, Thanks a lot for this kind of work. It means a lot of us and our tour guide, Arjan, and it was a pleasure hosting you and your partner.

    Fabulous bike tour

The bike tour was a great experience. Arjan our guide was terrific. He was knowledgeable, personable, and a fun guide. It included a private tour of a windmill by the owner of the windmill. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam.

Response from the operator: This feedback means a lot to us. Thank you very much, Kennet. Have a nice day.

    Windmills,Swans,cheese, and the countryside

Our guide, Marco could not have been nicer. He accommodated our every need. The guided tour of a working Windmill by the family owner and his friend was extraordinary!.. we climbed ladders inside to the top with the owner as he described and demonstrated his grinding mill. This was by far a highlight. Marco took us on an e-bike thru the countryside with multiple stops and lunch. We would highly recommend this tour

Response from the operator: Dear Roger. Thank you for your wonderful message. It motivated us very much, and we really appreciate it.

Kinderdijk Bike Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rotterdam.

How much does Kinderdijk Bike Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $228 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rotterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kinderdijk Bike Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rotterdam is not rushed.

Is Kinderdijk Bike Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 43 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rotterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kinderdijk Bike Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kinderdijk Bike Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kinderdijk Bike Tour?

    +

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rotterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rotterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kinderdijk Bike Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rotterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rotterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rotterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rotterdam Walk: Highlights, Architecture, Gems & WWII | 2 or 3hrs, Rotterdam Bike Tour - all the Highlights, Rotterdam Walking Food Tour with Delicious Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rotterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rotterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Kinderdijk Bike Tour?

Included: waterbus ticket retour including pick up at Rotterdam; Tea and coffee; entrances, private guiding service; and Bicycle use. Not included: camera, rain clothes/suncap/sunglasses; and Bottled water. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
