Great holiday day out!
A great day out for the family. It was memorable and took you into the heart of Thailand. Pickup from the hotel was prompt and comfortable. Drinks offered. Took just over an hour from The Sands in Khao Lak. Picked up the guide on route who was lovely, energetic and personable. Arrived and did what was more like an 8k trek. Got the vibe of the rainforest. Saw tarantula, a couple of snakes, lots of lizards. Monkeys. Decent paths but quite up and down so need to be relatively fit. Got to the waterfall which was a bit underwhelming but had a dip which was refreshing. A little kiosk there serving drinks and snack. Guide got us what we wanted with no additional charge ( would expect to normally be charged as extra with tourist rates). Return to vehicle from waterfall was a bit quicker. Then onto a fabulous meal which exceeded expectations - was expecting a small bowl of chicken and rice - got a platter of fruit, rice, fried chicken, massamam curry and a few other dishes. Kept topping up when we finished. Then onto a relaxing river raft which was enjoyable. Would rate this as a really nice thing to do for a holiday experience - no regrets. The guide added to the experience.

One of the Best Days
My sister and I (20 and 25) were blown away by this day. We knew it would be awesome and yet it still exceeded our expectations. We were in a small group which was great as it was easy to talk to the guide, ask questions, and it just felt more curated. The jungle hike was wonderful and we saw many monkeys, a snake, a tarantula, and sleeping bats. The view at lunch was incredible and the food was abundant and authentic, definitely the best Tom Yum I’ve ever had. My sister and I are vegan and we were very impressed with all the vegan options we were provided with. The bamboo rafting was breathtaking, even in the pouring rain. All in all the experience was 10/10, and our guide Gay and driver Peter were kind, professional, knowledgeable, and made us feel safe the entire time.

Walk on the Wildlife Side
Very good trek in Khao Sok national park, so much to see and experience. Our guide was really good and informative. Water was readily available, and very welcomed in 30+°C. Our excursion started really early in the morning, which we thoroughly enjoyed before more tourists arrived later in the morning. The bamboo rafting was so pleasant & relaxing, listening to the wildlife, and then, by the help of our guide, spotting a Water Monitor Dragon, Amazing! Lunch was "Xr̀xy māk" we had second helpings. The whole excursion was very much worth it, a great half day out. Note: Wear comfortable trainers, take sliders/flip-flops for rafting. Take Sunscreen / Towel & you'll definitely need insect repellent, it's a must.

Jungle adventure!
A brilliant day out! Our guide Ron was amazing from the early pick up to the knowledge he shared of the wildlife of the National Park, looking after us as we melted in the jungle, a delicious lunch and after the bamboo rafting. This is a day packed with fun but at a gentle pace to enjoy it all. We saw a tarantula, got to swim in the jungle stream to cool off and thoroughly enjoyed the whole day!

Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Khao Lak.
How much does Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting cost?
+
Prices start at $93 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Khao Lak usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting take?
+
Plan for about 7.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Khao Lak is not rushed.
Is Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 80 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Khao Lak, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Khao Lak can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Khao Lak and add a light layer if any part of the 7.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Khao Sok Rainforest | Hiking & Bamboo Rafting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Khao Lak within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Khao Lak?
+
On Outty we rank every Khao Lak experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Thai Cooking Class in Khao Lak by Amazon Prime Series Chef, Riverside Thai Cooking Half Day Class, Riverside Thai Cooking Class in Khao Lak with Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Khao Lak?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Khao Lak?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
