Only partially recommended
Unfortunately, neither the offroad ride, nor the waterfall were really great... the waterfall was just a little trickle in the bushes and the offroad ride were 10 minutes over an agricultural gravel road.... Apart from potholes, there was nothing with off-road... and I must also say that we were really unlucky with our guide. There were 4 children who actually only disturbed him and questions from them did not answer. He was very disrespectful to them. He was also not motivated to take children's food requests into account. But we had already done some tours with khao lak Discovery, and knew that there is food for children. only on several requests, he ordered it... even the guides from the raft trip were not bothered to show us anything... so for us the trip was a real shame for the money...

An excellent day out .
We booked this day trip through our hotel “ Flora Khao Lak “ Our guide was Anne , who had an excellent knowledge of the places we were going to visit . The trip is called the Khao Lak Safari . We bathed Asian elephants, rafted down a river on a bamboo raft, visited the Royal Navy Turtle Conservation Centre, lunched by the river and swam under a waterfall. We visited the Police boat , which was carried several kilometres by the Tsunami , in 2004. Last but not least, we visited a traditional Buddhist temple . The cost for this full day trip was : Adult - 3000. Child - (ages4-12) 2450 . Children three and under , free. Bathing the elephants was a real treat. Rafting , a first for me, was fun . My only negative was that there could have been a seat back to lean against and give some support . I have problems with my back , so this would have been helpful . Lunch was excellent, a lovely choice of food and flavours. The Turtle Centre , was originally an idea from the Queen of Thailand , a rescue centre , where the turtles could grow and be released when ready . To sum up our day : Anne was a gem of a guide, full of fun and knowledge ( Thank you Anne ) Well worth the 3000 THB we paid . Well done 🦋

Safari
We were greeted by our guide mook and driver bird, whom we're very welcoming and friendly. They took us on a fabulous tour of the khoa lak area. First it was the tsunami memorial, a very moving experience. With the guide giving a comprehensive amount of information about the event. Next we visited the temple. Again our guide was extremely informative about this and answered many questions that came from our group without hesitation. Then on to the elephant sanctuary. Our guide informed us of the itinerary for this location. This was an amazing experience. We were fed at this place and the food was beautiful and diverse. Eating in beautiful surroundings. Next to the turtle sanctuary again our guide showing us around and guiding us to distinctive areas. To finish it was some bamboo rafting through the national park. Again a very memorable experience. This by far has been one of the best , informative and value for money excursions I've been on, all helped by mook and bird. Thank you for a fantastic day.

Professional, considerate, great teamwork and synchronization
It was from khao lak. We were with the tour guide Gift (that's her nickname). She was charming, funny and full of knowledge and interesting stories everywhere we went. She made sure to give us the full experience in the best possible way together with the professional driver, who drove both in nature with us and on the road - we felt safe and enjoyed the ride . They took us to both touristy places and local hidden gems. All of our group are vegetarians and they took care of us for a varied and delicious lunch. The trip was very enjoyable. Thank you for an unforgettable experience! :)

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.
How much does Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket cost?
+
Prices start at $2942 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.
Is Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Khao Lak Expedition from Phuket start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phuket?
+
On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phuket?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phuket?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
