( This is weather dependant). In Simon’s Town we launch kayaks and paddle across the bay to meet the African penguins at Boulders Beach. Drifting quietly alongside these charming creatures in their natural habitat is a rare privilege, offering a perspective few visitors experience. If conditions are not favourable for kayaking them we find a secluded beach where they might be and we can swim with them or just follow the tourists and go into the reserve.

We highly recommend this tour, and especially Geoff as a guide
We had an absolutely fantastic day by paddling to the Penguins and then visiting the Cape of Good Hope and the peninsula. A huge part of what made it so special was our excellent guide, Geoff. From start to finish, Geoff was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and great company. He shared so much interesting information about the area, wildlife, history, and local sights, while also making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. The visit to the Cape of Good Hope was spectacular. We highly recommend this tour, and especially Geoff as a guide. If you’re visiting Cape Town and looking for a fun, scenic, and memorable day, this is definitely one to put on your list.

One of the best things we did in Cape Town
The Penguin Paddle was an absolutely brilliant experience and easily one of the highlights of our time in Cape Town. We started out on the water and paddled along the beautiful coastline towards the penguins. Being out on the sea, with the mountains and coastline around us, was spectacular. And then seeing the penguins in their natural environment was something we will never forget. What really made the day was the way Geoff put everything together. He was relaxed, knowledgeable and great company, and somehow managed to combine the adventure with plenty of local stories and information about the area. It was not just a kayaking trip. It felt like a proper Cape Town experience, with the coastline, wildlife, history and scenery all coming together. The whole day was very well organised and felt personal rather than like being part of a big tourist group. If you are visiting Cape Town and want to do something a little different, I would definitely recommend the Penguin Paddle. It is fun, active, beautiful and gives you a completely different perspective of the Cape Peninsula. A fantastic day from start to finish.

Paddling on the ocean with penguins was an incredible experience, and seeing them from the water was something we'll never forget.
