    Must see experience in Kauai!

I booked this trip early, since it was a must see for us. We visited Kauai aboard the Pride of America cruise. Once I learned the ship no longer sailed past the Na Pali Coast, I looked to book our own excursion. I checked out several different tour options and chose Holo-Holo. I liked the time slot available, and that the boat was made in Kauai. I am so glad we did not book one of the Zodiac trips, which are fun, and just did one in Kona the day before. We appreciated being in a boat more equipped to handle what the seas may deliver on this trip. I booked the sunset cruise, so there is no snorkeling for this time slot. You are aboard for 5 hrs, which sounds like a lot, but the time went by so fast, it did not feel like it. I had read that the trip can get a little rough at times, but we had mostly calm seas. The initial leg out to the Na Pali Coast was the roughest part of the trip, with some white caps present. We sat up front, so expect to get wet if you choose to sit up there. It is a blast and we all laughed so hard when a wave came and just drenched us! Other people sat in the back and did not get a hint of water on them, so to each their own on that. There were a few people who appeared seasick and the crew took good care of them, so if f you are prone to this, take some Dramamine before boarding. Dinner was served on the leg back. Holo-Holo was able to hoist the sails for part of the ride back, which was beautiful. The crew was great and attended to everyone very well. They knew a lot about the history of the area, so try to lend an ear to hear what they are saying and ask questions! The Na Pali Coast is a must see if you go to Kauai. Your eyes just drink in the majesty of this coast. No picture fully captures just how magnificent it is. Seeing it from the water gives such a dramatic perspective; plus, since you are on a catamaran, you have the luxury of enjoying scenery longer. We were treated to an amazing sunset to top off this terrific trip. Holo-Holo offers a champagne toast to top it off. When planning your trip to Hawaii, there is so much to see, and it’s hard to narrow down how you want to spend your time. Booking this trip was definitely worth it. I highly recommended Holo-Holo when visiting on Kauai! It is best for anyone that loves seeing the wonder of nature.

Response from the operator: We are so glad to have had you aboard and are absolutely beaming reading how much you enjoyed your Sunset Dinner Tour! Thank you so much for joining us and for taking the time to share your experience. Nāpali is truly a magical place, and we couldn’t have said it better ourselves! We hope to see you again soon for another adventure. Mahalo & Aloha!

Beautiful. Fun (for the seasickness prepared). Wet. The staff was extremely attentive.

We were out on the water from maybe 2:30 until after the sun went down at around 8:00. We got pretty wet staying out on top to avoid getting seasick down below. We were glad the boat was at about half-capacity, so we had room to move around. The scenery was spectacular, the staff attentive, but the ride was pretty rocky for most of the trip (which the captain said was pretty typical). Didn't really have the appetite for dinner, so we took it with us. Several people were seasick. Glad we avoided it.

Response from the operator: We appreciate your kind words and understanding about the rocky conditions, and love hearing how much you enjoyed your time with the captain and crew. There's nothing quite like the views along the Nāpali Coast, and we love knowing how much you enjoyed it! Mahalo and Aloha

Epic views, great service, great value!

Drew, Captain K, Shania and Christina were a fantastic team. They all went out of their way to be friendly helpful and service all the guests. I am especially appreciative of Drew who was captain for most of the trip. We had favorable weather conditions and calm oceans and so we made good time. He brought us not only to Kalalau, but almost to Hanakapi Beach! I have taken three tours with Holo Holo and this was by far the best. We even got to see into the caves up close. And Drew's narration was so informative giving us details along the way to help us understand the coastline and a bit of the history. The drinks, appetizers, and dinner were tasty and well presented. I give this six out of five stars!

Response from the operator: This is everything that we love to hear! We are so glad to have had you aboard and couldn't be happier knowing how much you enjoyed your tour and Captain Drew! Until we meet again... Mahalo and Aloha

Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kauai.

How much does Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail cost?

    +

Prices start at $241 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kauai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kauai is not rushed.

Is Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 593 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kauai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail?

    +

Around 208 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kauai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kauai and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kauai: Leila Na Pali Sunset Dinner Sail start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kauai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kauai?

    +

Kauai sells Na Pali Coast boat and helicopter tours, Waimea Canyon drives, tubing through old plantation ditches and Hanalei kayak trips. Ocean conditions shut down the north shore boat runs in winter, so cancellation terms matter. On Outty we rank every Kauai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Koloa Zipline in Kauai, Kauai: NaPali Boat Tour on the Amelia K, Kauai: Secret Falls Kayak and Hike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kauai?

    +

April to June and September to October, with calmest seas in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kauai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
