Wonderful 1.5 hours spent making sushi with delicious food in a beautiful setting
We had a really nice time with Maya learning how to make Sushi! It was really delicious and all our pieces ended up so beautiful we didn't want to eat them at first (we did of course). Really fun activity to do especially with teens or pre teens. :) Maya and her colleague were also very friendly and Maya ended up walking us to our bus stop to ensure we would not walk 25 min in the blazing heat to our next location. Highly recommend them!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much Jennifer, Nicholas, Leo, Chirara for joining us. It was such a pleasure having you all. Hope you arrived home safely with lots of precious memories. Maya and Yuko

Best ever sushi making experience!
Our sushi making workshop was incredible. The ingredients were prepared beautifully and everything was extremely fresh. The fish was purchased this morning at Omicho Market and was absolutely delicious. Our instructor, Chikako, was super friendly and highly knowledgeable. She walked us through all the ingredients and allowed us to taste everything as she explained them and Japanese culture at the same time. If you go to Kanazawa, you will not regret spending a couple hours making and eating a delicious meal with Chikako!
Response from the operator: Dear Tara and David, It was a great pleasure to welcome you to our Temari Sushi experience during your travels in Kanazawa. We feel truly honored to have been part of the final leg of your one-year journey and to celebrate your 20th wedding anniversary together. The Temari Sushi you made were absolutely beautiful, and we were so touched by your warm and thoughtful review—thank you very much. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels and look forward to the day we can welcome you again. With lots of love, Chikako

Amazing experience!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience! Our instructor, Chikako, was wonderful. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. She made us feel comfortable even though we had never made sushi before. The ingredients were super fresh, right from the local market that morning. This, in turn, made for a delicious AND beautiful final product! Yes, you get to eat everything, even the extra ingredients that didn’t make it into any of the sushi! Chikako also made us a special dessert to enjoy at the end of our meal. It was superb! I can’t say enough good things about this experience and our trip to Japan as a whole. It is something we will remember always. Thank you Chikako and In Kanazawa House!
Response from the operator: Dear Anna, Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review of our Temari Sushi experience. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in responding. Your warm words truly meant a lot to us, and we are incredibly happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience. It is always our greatest pleasure to welcome guests like you and share a part of Japanese culture through food and hospitality. Your feedback inspires us to continue improving and offering memorable experiences to all our visitors. If you ever return to Japan, we would be delighted to welcome you again. Wishing you and your family all the best. Love, Chikako

Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kanazawa.
How much does Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $78 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kanazawa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kanazawa is not rushed.
Is Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kanazawa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kanazawa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kanazawa and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kanazawa Sushi-Making Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kanazawa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kanazawa?
+
On Outty we rank every Kanazawa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include World Heritage Shirakawa-go and Experience Tours from Kanazawa, Kanazawa Highlights: Garden, Castle, Samurai & Geisha+Taxi, Kanazawa Full Day Tour (Private Guide). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kanazawa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kanazawa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
