    The experience was...

The experience was advertised to be a personalized tour, and I was really looking forward to exploring particular areas. The guide was very pushy about not going to those areas, and while he was well informed on the spots we went to, it did not feel like the experience that was advertised. Unfortunately my partner and I also felt like he was not respectful of our culture (we are American) he made a lot of comments and jokes that were not relevant to the tour. I was really looking forward to the tour so it was disappointing to have this experience, especially since the company had reached out to me to ask what we were specifically interested in.

Response from the operator: Hello Elizabeth, We’re genuinely sorry to hear that the experience did not reflect the personalized tour you were expecting. This is certainly not the kind of experience or interaction we want our guests to have. Your feedback is important to us, and we’ve taken it seriously. Our Global Host Manager has addressed the matter internally with the team to help prevent a similar situation from happening again. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention and giving us the opportunity to learn from your experience. We would sincerely value another opportunity to welcome you and provide the personalized, engaging experience you originally expected from us. Warm regards, Sheenah and the City Unscripted team.

    Excellent walking tour,...

Excellent walking tour, with some hidden gems off the beaten path. Geisha and samurai districts were good sights.

Response from the operator: We’re so glad you enjoyed discovering some of the city’s hidden gems beyond the usual sights! It’s wonderful to hear the geisha and samurai districts were highlights of the experience — thank you for sharing this lovely recommendation.

    Must do tour!!

Katie was an amazing tour guide! She gave lots of great information that we would’ve otherwise missed on our own. Very knowledgeable about the gardens and the different districts! Highly recommend!!

Response from the operator: We're delighted to hear that you had such a fantastic time exploring with Katie. Her passion for sharing local knowledge and uncovering the stories behind the gardens and districts truly makes each experience special. It’s great to know that Katie helped you discover insights and details you might have otherwise missed. Your kind words and recommendation mean a lot to us.

    Seafood and city skylines.

Our guide, Katie was kind, adaptable and patient with all of our questions and the two paces set by our party. We explored the samurai district, Ken-Roken garden and Omochi market. She gave great tips of places to explore outside of our tour and introduced us to some yummy seafood treats. 10/10 recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re glad that you had such an enjoyable experience with Katie. Her kindness, patience, and ability to adapt to your group’s pace truly make a difference, and we’re glad that came through during your tour. It sounds like you had a fantastic time exploring the samurai district, Kenrokuen Garden, and Ōmichō Market—and of course, enjoying some delicious seafood along the way! Thank you for the 10/10 recommendation, and we hope to welcome you again on another tour in the future!

    We had a wonderful...

We had a wonderful evening stroll through the historic areas with Yuzuki. We found him very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Really enjoyed the back streets in the evening light and loved that we were able to enter the temples after dark, an unexpected experience. Ended the evening in an Izakaya, so fun!!! Thank you!

Response from the operator: We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your evening stroll with Yuzuki and discovered the charm of the back streets and temples after dark. Ending the night in an Izakaya sounds like the perfect way to wrap up the experience!

Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kanazawa.

How much does Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs cost?

    +

Prices start at $66 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kanazawa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kanazawa is not rushed.

Is Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kanazawa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kanazawa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kanazawa and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kanazawa Like a Local: Private & Personalized Experience 2-3 hrs start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kanazawa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kanazawa?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kanazawa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include World Heritage Shirakawa-go and Experience Tours from Kanazawa, Kanazawa Full Day Tour (Private Guide), Kanazawa Highlights: Garden, Castle, Samurai & Geisha+Taxi. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kanazawa?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kanazawa?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
