Family Alaska Trip
We had an awesome experience. First we went out on private whale watching cruise with Tori and Patrick. Beautiful boat and great snacks while we rode out to the area they had designated as a prime whale watching site. We saw a full breaching and at least 6 other whales while we were there. We also saw some sea lions. Great with our young kids as well. After we got off the boat we went to Medenhall Glacier where our guide tailored this portion to our desires. Great value and great trip. Would do it again.

Amazing once in a life time excursion!
This was definitely the Premier Excursion of our Alaskan cruise and we were not disappointed!!! We reserved two yacht whale watching and glacier excursions for a total of 13 people. This was top-notch with amazing whale watching, with our fabulous Captain and Lisa as our naturalist (captain and naturalist on each boat). In the comfort of each yacht, we munched on an overflowing charcuterie tray and drinks while searching for whales. Most amazing experience and not to forget are trip to the glacier and falls guided by Ann Marie. Office Staff of Jamie and Jill were amazing in making sure our party ranging from 15 year olds, 20’s, 50’s and 70 year olds were all accompanied and taken care of months in advance. There was even room for my father’s collapsible electric scooter in the sprinter van and yacht if we would have brought it. We have already recommended this excursion to other friends going to Alaska. Service was excellent all around and can’t wait to do it again! Amazing and thank you Alaska Luxury Tours!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and enthusiastic review! We’re honored to hear that your Juneau by Land & Sea tour became the standout excursion of your entire Alaskan cruise. Hosting a group of 13 across two private luxury yachts is something we take great pride in, and it’s wonderful to know the whale watching, onboard hospitality, and glacier and waterfall visit all came together seamlessly. We’re thrilled that your captains and naturalists delivered memorable wildlife encounters, and that Ann Marie made the land portion just as special. It’s especially meaningful to hear how our office team helped coordinate the experience well in advance and ensured guests of all ages—and mobility needs—were comfortable every step of the way. Creating accessible, multi-generational Juneau tours is incredibly important to us. Thank you for recommending Alaska Luxury Tours to others and for trusting us with such an important part of your Alaska adventure. We’d love to welcome your group back again for another unforgettable experience in Juneau.

5 Stars
What an incredible experience. Anne Marie picked us up from the cruise port. The van was clean and spacious. She was very knowledgeable and great with our kids (ages 4, 6, 9). We first went on our whale watching tour with Shannon and Jen. I cannot say enough about this part of the trip. Obviously, the whale watching was a highlight, but Shannon and Jen made the entire trip one we will never forget. Shannon was extremely knowledgeable (she recognized the name of the whale we saw within a few seconds of seeing the fins) and was incredible with our kids (including having activity books and kid-friendly snacks/drinks - as well as adult-friendly snacks/drinks). Jen was the boat captain and whale spotter, but she still made time to let my 4 year old daughter sit by her and talk with her for a good chunk of time. After whale watching, Anne Marie picked us back up and took us to the Mendenhall Glacier and then to a salmon hatchery. All in all, this tour was worth it and would 100% recommend to others.

Amazing experience
Everything about our experience with Alaska Luxury Tours was first-class. Andy and Megan were waiting for the seven of us as we disembarked from the cruise ship. They were friendly and professional, providing interesting information about Juneau as we rode in their spacious and comfortable van. They took us to the luxurious yacht for our whale watching excursion. Our captain Jen and out naturalist Savannah were enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. We saw many whales and Savannah was able to identify them by name, giving us some history about the whale and its personality. Breathtaking and fascinating, it was a morning that we will never forget! Savannah and Jen were also gracious hosts, supplying a delicious breakfast board of pastries and fruit and offering a variety of beverages. Then Andy and Megan picked us up and guided us to Mendenhall Glacier, instructing us about the glacier and the surrounding forest as we hiked. I would highly recommend this company for a seamless 5-hour tour of Juneau’s highlights.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Juneau by Land & Sea: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Juneau.
How much does Juneau by Land & Sea cost?
+
Prices start at $4350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Juneau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Juneau by Land & Sea take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Juneau is not rushed.
Is Juneau by Land & Sea worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Juneau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Juneau by Land & Sea?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Juneau by Land & Sea suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Juneau by Land & Sea?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Juneau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Juneau and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Juneau by Land & Sea start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Juneau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Juneau?
+
Juneau runs Mendenhall Glacier trips, whale watching in Auke Bay, helicopter glacier landings with dog sledding, and rainforest hikes. Most tours are timed to cruise ship windows, so we weight clear duration and pickup detail. On Outty we rank every Juneau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching, Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier, Whales and Wilderness Exploration. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Juneau?
+
May to September, peaking for humpbacks in June and July. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Juneau?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
