    Excellent experience all around!

This was my husband’s and my first camping trip and first time visiting a desert, so we truly had no idea what to expect and were both a bit nervous about it. Those worries were completely unfounded because not only did the desert beauty blow us away, but our intrepid guide, Matt, made the camping (and hiking!) experience so easy and smooth. He helped us set everything up and made us delicious and nutritious meals and took us on amazing and challenging hikes we would not have braved otherwise. Could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and personable guide. Literally every aspect of this trip was perfection and we would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to dip their toes into camping and exploring the national parks.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We're so happy to hear that Matt made you feel so comfortable and supported on your first camping trip! The desert can be especially intimidating and we are so thrilled that you were able to really explore and enjoy it. We hope this is the start of many more adventures for you, on your own or with Good Trip!

    Great way to end 2023!

Max was our guide on a recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park. We had the best time there. Max was a very knowledgable, fun guide. He totally engaged our 11 year old boys through the whole 6 hours trip. If we had gone on our own we would not have explored the park as much as we did with Max as our guide, so highly recommend this tour. The lunch he put together was yum... best grilled cheese sandwiches ever :-)

Response from the operator: So glad that you had such a wonderful day with Max in Joshua Tree. We look forward to seeing you again in your next National Park.

    Incredible, safe, fun, informative!

Seriously SO fun. We had Max as our amazing tour guide. We went with a group of 10, he was so accommodating and informative all while being the most fun. Felt like you were on a hike/tour with your best friend! Felt safe, and enjoyed every bit. Our lunch was outstanding and he brought fun treats that were such a surprise. It really made it special. Got to see all of joshua tree and really take it all in with no worries about where to go or what to see, Max knew it all.

Response from the operator: Sounds like a great day in Joshua Tree! We are so pleased that people love our lunches! And our snacks are our secret weapon. And we think Max is great, too! We look forward to seeing you again.

Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Palm Springs.

How much does Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike cost?

    +

Prices start at $973 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Palm Springs usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Palm Springs is not rushed.

Is Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Palm Springs, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Palm Springs can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Palm Springs and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Joshua Tree Full Day Private Tour & Hike start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Palm Springs within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Palm Springs?

    +

Palm Springs sells architecture tours through midcentury neighbourhoods, Aerial Tramway trips up San Jacinto, Indian Canyons hikes, Joshua Tree stargazing and windmill farm runs. Shade, water and pickup points separate a good desert tour from a rough one. On Outty we rank every Palm Springs experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bank Heist Escape Room Game for Private Group, Palm Springs Modernism Architecture & History Bike Tour, Vampire's Lair Escape Room Game for Private Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Palm Springs?

    +

November to April. Book dawn or evening slots in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Palm Springs?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
