It was a great tour, our driver was very punctual and sent us a text when he arrived outside our hotel. When we got to the site a different tour guide took us through the whole site explaining everything very well. A must do when in Jordan.

Flawless trip to Jordan baptism site
Pickup at my hotel on time. I got the contact information in advance. Car was clean and new. Driver was fluent in English and quite entertaining. The baptism site is huge and you have to pay JOD12 entrance fees (with Jordan pass less or nothing). A small bus and guide will take care onsite. The driver took me to a viewpoint to see the Dead Sea. May thanks for taking care!

Baptism tour

A must do in your life if you're religious.
The driver was lovely and messaged me before the trip to agree pick up times and what vehicle we needed. The tour itself at the site stated 2-3hrs. It was a quiet day with only maybe 30 people, so their guide seemed to rush us around and didnt really give much explanation on anything we saw. We did the tour in 90mins. You go to visitor centre, take a shuttle to the site, where you see the baptism site - which was being washed at the time- they wash it all down daily. ( this disappointed me for some reason) then you see remains of St John's the babtist church. You then pass the not so old Orthadox church to the t River Jordan, where you can get babtised. (I don't recommend this unless you had all your travel shots recently) the River is only a few metres wide, which isreal on the other bank. The water is very dirty. Armed guards on each bank sit discreetly to the side. There is however a lovely stone font by the river edge, with cleaner blessed water, so that's a far safer way to be baptised. You are allowed to fill a small bottle to take some away with you. The visit was still worth it, just remember why you came, it does feel very strange there and you cme away feeling 'better' somehow. It's really a must, just to see what you feel there and to see where Jesus was babtised by John. There is a little museum - through the gift shop. Thats worth looking at. There are toilets at visitors centre and near the baptism site, so take water with you as it can get very warm there. We went on 7th Oct 2025. It reached 30oC by 11am.

Last minute booking with Zaid to the Baptism site in the morning, who also accommodated a change of destinations, adding a trip to the Ma’in Hot Springs in the afternoon. Car was comfortable and clean and air conditioned, wifi was available.

Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amman.
How much does Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amman usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amman is not rushed.
Is Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amman and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amman within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amman?
+
On Outty we rank every Amman experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Amman: Petra and Wadi rum Private/Group Full day Tour, From Amman :Private or Group Full day tour to Petra, Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea 4 Days 3 nights. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amman?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amman?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour?
+
Included: Private transportation; On-board WiFi; Bottled water; English Speaking Driver; and Hotel Pickup and Drop-off. Not included: Entry Ticket for Baptism Site. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 177 listed pickup locations in and around Amman. Be ready about 10 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour offered in?
+

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Jordan River Baptism Site Private Tour?
+
