    Great new experience

We booked the Jomblang and Pindul cave tour with Wahyu Travel Indonesia. Our driver Wijaya speaks English quite well, told us a lot of interesting things about life in Indonesia. Usually they pick up at 7 am. This is due to the sun in the cave and the queue for the descent. Be sure to take a towel, swimsuit, slippers. Waterproof bags for your camera and phone. This is for rafting on the river. For the cave, some kind of scarf or disposable hat to wear under the helmet, which will be given, long socks, because you will have to wear rubber boots, they will also be given out, flashlight, maybe a hiking stick, of course, if it folds. Because the cave is full of mud, and there is not always anything to lean on. You will be lowered into the cave 2 people at a time, a little scary, because 60 meters down. We finished in Jomblang around 1:00 PM. We were fed local food, it was delicious. You can buy a photo of yourself being lowered into the cave for 35k, so smile when they take your picture. There are also cashew nut orchards around here, it was harvest season (end of October), and we saw this nut growing for the first time. We had a great swim in Pindul cave. Then they took us further into the mountains in a small truck to a mountain river, where we rafted for 1 km. When the riverbed became calmer, they allowed us to swim on our own and showed us rocks from which we could jump. The water is very warm, not like in our mountain rivers. We passed fields where trees are grown, from which castor oil is made. Activity for the whole day, we finished swimming at 16:00

Response from the operator: Hello, Nathalie. Thank you so much for booking the tour with me. It's nice to go with you. I hope to see you again next time. Thank you. Wahyu Travel Indonesia 🇮🇩

    Trip to the caves

Great trip- Wayhu made sure we were first in the queue. That made a huge difference ; there is a fair amount of waiting around and the total group was very big.

Our driver and tour guide, Sugito or Gito is very punctual, speaks good English and very informative. Wahyu coordinated with us ahead of time regarding the fees to be paid on-site. The fee for Jomblang cave comes with lunch, bottled water, coffee/tea, gear rental (helmet, harness, rain boots which is uncomfortable and unsafe because I saw a lot of people slip). I suggest to bring your own hiking boots for better grip. If you want adventure, this tour is for you. While descending, you'll see rock formations and greeneries around you. It was rainy season when we went to Yogyakarta but we were blessed with good weather on that day. The trek going to the opening was muddy and slippery (tip: bring extra clothes, headlamp). I was in awe when I saw a mist or fog covering the opening. I don't want to spoil the rest...it's for you to find out :) It was hot, humid and a tiring activity that made our muscles ached but all worth it. We did not go to Pindul cave since my senior aunts don't want another caving activity, we went to Timang beach instead. Overall, it was a nice experience. I'll do it again without a doubt.

Response from the operator: Hello, Priscilla. Thank you so much for booking the tour with me. It's nice to go with you. I hope to see you again next time. Thank you, Wahyu Travel Indonesia 🇮🇩

Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yogyakarta.

How much does Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta cost?

    +

Prices start at $53 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yogyakarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yogyakarta is not rushed.

Is Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Yogyakarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yogyakarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yogyakarta and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Jomblang Cave and Pindul Cave Tour from Yogyakarta start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yogyakarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Yogyakarta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Yogyakarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yogyakarta Private Car Hire with Driver, From Surabaya / Malang : Mt Bromo Sunrise - Ijen Blue Fire 2D1N, Borobudur Full Climb Up And Prambanan ALL INCLUSIVE PRIVATE Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Yogyakarta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Yogyakarta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
