A Journey Through Jordan’s History — Jerash & Ajloun
What an incredible day discovering two of Jordan’s most fascinating historical treasures! Our day trip from Amman to Jerash and Ajloun was the perfect combination of ancient history, impressive architecture, beautiful landscapes, and a relaxing escape from the city. Our first stop was Jerash, and it was absolutely spectacular. Walking through the ancient Roman city, surrounded by enormous columns, temples, theaters, and beautifully preserved streets, was an unforgettable experience. The scale of the ruins is incredible, and you can really appreciate how important this city must have been centuries ago. From Jerash, we continued to Ajloun, where the historic castle and surrounding countryside offered a completely different experience. The castle was fascinating to explore, and the views across the green hills and valleys were beautiful. It was a great contrast to the Roman ruins of Jerash. What made the day especially enjoyable was the combination of these two destinations. Jerash takes you deep into the Roman history of Jordan, while Ajloun gives you a glimpse into the country's medieval past and beautiful northern landscapes. Seeing both in one day gives you a much better appreciation of the incredible history and diversity of Jordan. The journey from Amman was comfortable and the day was very well organized. We had enough time to explore, take photographs, enjoy the scenery, and appreciate each location without feeling like we were constantly rushing to the next stop. If you're staying in Amman and want to experience something beyond the city, a day trip to Jerash and Ajloun is absolutely worth it. It is a fantastic way to discover Jordan's history, architecture, and countryside in a single day. A memorable day, incredible historical sites, beautiful scenery, and a perfect introduction to northern Jordan. Highly recommended! Jerash + Ajloun = one fantastic day of history and discovery.
