1. Beirut

2. Jeita Grotto

   Step into one of the most spectacular cave systems on earth — a UNESCO tentative World Heritage Site and a top-five finalist in the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Two interconnected limestone caves stretch 9 kilometres beneath the Lebanese mountains — the upper cave explored on foot through an elevated walkway where stalactites and stalagmites up to 8 metres tall hang and rise in formations built over millions of years. The lower cave is navigated by silent electric boat along an underground river, gliding through chambers where the geology becomes almost impossibly beautiful. Your guide explains the millions of years of geological history behind every formation you pass — turning a spectacular visual experience into a genuinely educational one that no self-guided visit can replicate.

3. From underground to above the clouds in a single morning — board the famous Harissa Téléférique at the Jounieh seafront and ride 650 metres above sea level with Jounieh Bay spreading out beneath you and the Lebanese mountain ranges rising ahead. The aerial views on the ascent are among the most photographed in Lebanon. Your guide points out landmarks along the coastline as the cable car climbs — making the journey as informative as it is breathtaking.

4. The Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon

   At the mountaintop, stand before the iconic bronze statue of Our Lady of Lebanon — 8.5 metres tall at 650 metres above the sea, arms outstretched toward the Mediterranean below. One of the most visited and most recognised religious monuments in the Middle East, surrounded by the Maronite Basilica and neighbouring churches. Your guide explains the deep spiritual and cultural significance of Harissa to Lebanese Christian heritage — and to Lebanon's identity as a country where faith and landscape have always been inseparable.

5. Baatara Gorge Waterfall

   The day's most dramatic moment — and one of the most extraordinary natural sights in the entire Middle East. The Baatara Gorge Waterfall near Tannourine is a geological phenomenon found nowhere else on earth: a 255-metre waterfall plunging sequentially through three natural limestone bridges, carved over millions of years by the Balaa river into the Jurassic limestone of the Lebanese mountains. Standing at the viewpoint and watching the water disappear through bridge after bridge into the darkness of the gorge below is one of those rare travel moments that no photograph fully prepares you for. Your guide explains the geological processes behind this extraordinary formation — how the limestone dissolved over millennia to create a triple-bridged gorge that geologists still study today.

6. Byblos

   Lunch in Byblos — optional On the drive back toward Beirut, make an optional stop in Byblos — one of the oldest cities on earth — for a relaxed lunch at a waterfront restaurant overlooking the ancient fishing port. Fresh mezze, grilled fish, and cold Lebanese wine with medieval city walls reflected in the harbour. After a day of geological wonder and spiritual beauty, the ancient port of Byblos feels like the most natural place in the world to sit down and eat.
