A Perfect Day!
This was simply a FANTASTIC tour! We have visited Jamaica many, many times but tend to stay close to our resort. We wanted to venture out and do something different on our most recent trip and came across this "Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting" tour! So delighted we found this gem of a tour. Our awesome Driver/Guide, Das, picked us up promptly at the designated location and time. His van was comfy and nicely air-conditioned, complete with nicely chilled bottles of water! We had a lovely 90 minute drive to Seaford Town in Westmoreland Parish. Das was informative and fun. He explained much about the villages we passed through and gave us insight to the history of Jamaica. The roads were a bit curvy, crazy, and filled with some interesting sights…it added to our experience. We turned off the main road onto a long driveway and arrived at Fada Chris Endz’ farm…WOW! It was very cool…a little covered patio with a pit, a kitchen, a bar and tables. When we arrived, the pigs were just about finished cooking. In the meantime, we enjoyed a seafood chowder, curry lobster tails and Red Stripes. All very tasty. After finishing that, the pork was ready…we received an ample portion, complete with festival, slaw, and rice. The meat was ever so tender and perfect. There are other food items available besides what we ate - jerk chicken, curry goat, escovitch fish, curry shrimp, fried breadfruit, etc. I am fairly certain they are equally as delicious. ***NOTE*** We took this tour on a Saturday, when Fada Chris’ restaurant was open - I believe the tour’s itinerary is different other days of the week. For me, as wonderful as the food was, I loved the experience and the sense of Community at Fada Chris'…locals and tourists chowing on some good food and enjoying Life in a peaceful environ. As the restaurant’s motto states: “WHERE THE FOOD AND THE VIBE IS RIGHT” Fada Chris Endz is super cool and appreciative of his guests. He is one hard-working Man! After hanging out at the restaurant for a bit, we started our trip home. Again, Das made the return trip interesting…talking about Jamaican Life. Das truly made this tour even more enjoyable and perfect - he was fantastic. and engaging. He is one heck of a solid Dude…the BEST! We hope our paths cross with Das on our next trip to Jamaica . It was an amazing day. While hanging out at a resort is always enjoyable, this was a nice change of scenery and a great way to see a bit of the Country. This is the REAL Jamaica!

Yummy Food Experience
The tour guide was knowledgeable about the food and the country. He took great photos of us and the food, and we even got to experience something not listed on the tour.

Worst experience
We never located the tour operator. Even the port officials couldn’t find him. They tried calling the number listed on the tickets several times, but no one ever answered. We ended up having to book another tour at the port. It was only when I got off my cruise today and had internet service did I see the emails from the tour operator. I expect a full refund, but I doubt I’ll get it. I will never use Viator again!
Response from the operator: Lynnetta you never responded to any calls, texts or emails. You never confirmed the name of the cruiseship you are traveling on or even what the estimated disembarking time is. We still went to the port and waited. When booking you can clearly see the pickup time of 8:00 AM, the experience is 3hours and at 9:25 AM, we left the port because you were still not ready for pickup. It cannot be our responsibility to get you to respond to texts, calls or emails. We even contacted you 2 days before the experience to get an alternative number or way to reach you once you arrive at the port, because, we are aware that sometimes the cell signal is off upon arrival at the port. As the owner, I personally do every tour and I always open communication before the tour even starts but if you do not respond there's nothing I can do. I personally called Viator.com to report that you were late and I asked them to reach out to you while I was waiting on the phone but there was no answer from you. Whenever you're on a cruiseship, you need to ensure you have a way to reach the person you've booked the excursion with and ensure you know the times because cruiseships have their own schedule, you need to ensure your excursion will work with their schedule. The other option is to book the excursion upon arrival at the port.

Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montego Bay.
How much does Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay cost?
+
Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Montego Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Montego Bay is not rushed.
Is Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montego Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montego Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montego Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Jamaican Countryside Food Tasting Tour from Montego Bay start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montego Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Montego Bay?
+
On Outty we rank every Montego Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Montego Bay Airport Transfer to Negril, Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Private Tour from Montego Bay, Appleton Estate Admission Ticket & Distillery Tour with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Montego Bay?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Montego Bay?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
