What you'll see and do

  1. Rio Bueno

The Rio Bueno is located just about at the midpoint between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. Coming from either, it's about a 45-minute drive. The River water ranges in temperature from sun-warmed to moderately cool, which is ideal for swimming. It's very deep in certain areas, but due to the gradual, gentle slope, the rapids are never more than lightly churning. Once, you get to the drop-off point for rafting or tubing, the adventure begins. Once you're across the bridge, you'll feel like you're in the middle of a beautiful rainforest. There's something magical about the trail that is covered in lush greenery, with the fresh smell and sound of the river running in the background. The river doesn't get extremely rapid, but it's just enough for you to get excited and get your heart pumping. At the midpoint of the river, you can pause and swing from ropes and plunge into the invigorating river water. Shortly after passing the iconic Old Colonial Bridge you will be picked up by a speedboat and towed into the Caribbean Sea at the shores of lovely Bengal Beach.

River tubing near Montego Bay

It was really fun. Gentle river, minor rapids. 2 awesome guides. Wish I remembered their names. We had a group of 11 ages 5, 8,10,11,14,15 and 4 adults. All of us enjoyed it. I will say, they could stand for an upgrade of equipment (tubes, helmets-although helmets dont really seem needed for this river). About a 45min drive from Montego Bay/Rose Hall.

Is Jamaica River Rapid Tubing (Transportation Only) worth it?

+

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montego Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Jamaica River Rapid Tubing (Transportation Only)?

+

Is Jamaica River Rapid Tubing (Transportation Only) suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 9. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Jamaica River Rapid Tubing (Transportation Only)?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montego Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montego Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Jamaica River Rapid Tubing (Transportation Only) start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montego Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Montego Bay?

+

On Outty we rank every Montego Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Montego Bay Airport Transfer to Negril, Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Private Tour from Montego Bay, Appleton Estate Admission Ticket & Distillery Tour with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Montego Bay?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Montego Bay?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
