What you get

    About this experience

After pickup from your Montego Bay hotel or vacation rental, or the airport—additional charges apply for port pickup—travel to the location: It’s about a 45-minute drive. Your private bamboo raft is 30 feet (9 meters) long, with seating for two people and lifejackets included. A local captain rafts you downstream for at least an hour, through luscious vegetation, natural sounds, and fruit trees—although of course you can guide your own raft for photo purposes. Bring cash to buy drinks, food, or souvenirs, plus music if you’d like to listen while you raft. At the end of the rafting course, your driver collects you and drops you back to your Montego Bay address.

Great experience from start to finish

Ottis and his team were great. He kept communication from we booked our trip until we got back home to the states. Our River rafting tour was amazing, first time in Jamaica and it won’t be our last. Ottis picked up my family at our hotel in Montego Bay and he’s showed up on time with a clean bus ready for the adventure. We drove for maybe an hour while vibing to cultural music from Bob Marley and others while admiring the different landscape and scenery. Once we got to the location Ottis already had a raft reserved waiting for us to start the experience and was it a good one. We went downstream on a bamboo raft (Mind blowing) while drinking red stripe beer and enjoying the scenery and hearing local stories. After we came back to the starting point Ottis was there waiting to take us back to our hotel but not before stopping on the way for us to buy some authentic jerk chicken 🤤. I would recommend this experience and Ottis to anyone looking to have a great and safe time in Jamaica. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    Workers on strike!!!!

Only Upon arrival at the location, were told the workers were on strike. We were asked to wait until the issue could possibly be resolved. Thirty minutes later, we left, very disappointed!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback on your experience. I would like to remind you we we're en route to a rafting location we made contact with to verify their operations when you're group decided they wanted to go to this specific spot so we changed route to accommodate your request and upon arrival it was understood the rafting operators we're on strike. We did exhaust all other options to go rafting to which you agreed to non an requested a refund. We brought you back to your respective hotels and stay with you until a refund was processed through trip advisor. Our team did all we could to create a memorable experience however unfortunately their are factors out of our control and that was the case on this trip.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montego Bay.

How much does Jamaica Bamboo Rafting with Bus Transportation cost?

    +

Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Montego Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Jamaica Bamboo Rafting with Bus Transportation take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Montego Bay is not rushed.

Is Jamaica Bamboo Rafting with Bus Transportation worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montego Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Jamaica Bamboo Rafting with Bus Transportation?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Jamaica Bamboo Rafting with Bus Transportation suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Jamaica Bamboo Rafting with Bus Transportation?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montego Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montego Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Jamaica Bamboo Rafting with Bus Transportation start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montego Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Montego Bay?

    +

On Outty we rank every Montego Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Montego Bay Airport Transfer to Negril, Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Private Tour from Montego Bay, Appleton Estate Admission Ticket & Distillery Tour with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Montego Bay?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Montego Bay?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
