Terrific izakaya tour in Nagano
We had an absolutely fantastic time. Robin was a great host and guide. The choice of food venues was great. We’d never had 100% buckwheat noodles which were delicious. And we thoroughly enjoyed the conversation with him learning perspectives of Japanese culture that we otherwise would not have known about. One of the best tours we’ve been on. Highly recommended.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re very happy to hear that you had such a fantastic time with Robin. He will be delighted to know that you enjoyed the food venues, the 100% buckwheat soba, and the conversations about Japanese culture. It means a lot to us to hear that this was one of the best tours you’ve been on. Thank you again for joining o8Experience and for highly recommending us.

Our favorite tour in Japan
Masa was a fantastic guide who took us to places we otherwise would not have found on our own, mostly small family-owned restaurants where he had personal connections with the owner/operators. The food was also some of the best we had during our time in Japan.
Response from the operator: thank you so much! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the small, family-run spots our team loves and supports. Sharing places where we have personal connections is a big part of what makes o8 special. It means a lot to hear the food was among your best in Japan. We hope to welcome you back to Nagano soon! — The o8Experience Team

Fun and food in Nagano!
We had a great time on our Izakaya food tour! We started out with Yakitori, so good! Then we went to visit a local ramen shop handmade by a lady who bicycles to her shop everyday at 6 am to make those noodles. The broth and veggies were amazing! She was so kind to us. We got to see one of Japan’s oldest movie theaters on the way to our next pub stop. The gyoza there was really good! And finally we ended our tour at a local pub run by a gentleman who collects Americana type antiques. Such a walk down memory lane! We would never had experienced such a rich and diverse culture within Nagano without Masa! We are very grateful for the experience - one of the highlights of our trip!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed exploring Nagano’s local food culture on our Izakaya Tour. Each stop — from the handmade ramen and cozy yakitori spot to the nostalgic pub with Americana treasures — shows a different side of our city’s charm. It makes us so happy to know these local stories and flavors became one of the highlights of your trip. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Nagano again for more delicious discoveries! Warm regards, The o8Experience Team

Why this scores 87
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nagano.
How much does Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano cost?
+
Prices start at $112 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nagano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nagano is not rushed.
Is Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 62 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Nagano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano?
+
Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nagano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nagano and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Izakaya Food Tour in Nagano start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nagano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nagano?
+
On Outty we rank every Nagano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 1-Day Tour from Nagano and Matsumoto Kamikochi & Matsumoto Castle, 1-Day Snow Monkeys, Zenko-ji Temple & Sake in Nagano, Private Snow Monkey Tour - Conveniently Resort Hop and Sightsee. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nagano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nagano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
