What you'll see and do
Cachoeira
Today we go to the Roots of Bahia in the town Cachoeira, with Ivan Bahia Travel Guide is an excellent alternative day-tour inclusive a trip along the mangroves of the mighty Paraguaçu-river. As always we go off the beaten tracks, and go to Cachoeira, a typical colonial town in Bahia. We will float back to the historical heritage of the colonial era of Bahia and Brazil in a region which is situated in the Recôncavo Baiano area (a zone around the beautiful Paraguaçu-river's estuary). You will be meeting inland Bahianos and see what they do for life, how they cope with modern Brazil, and discover how they evolved from a rich colonial era to the Brazil as it exists nowadays. We will also take a mangrove trip from Cachoeira to the fishermen and artisan pottery village of Coqueiros, where we will have a typical local moqueca lunch (a moqueca is a local African inspired fish stew) One of our main arguments in this tour is that we adapt it to your needs and interests (for which there is no competition for this at the local tourism scene.). If you want to discover this part of Brazil like you want it, with a local who knows the region like it's pocket then you absolutely have to book this tour. You will enjoy this, guaranteed. By the way, our air-conditioned car / van has Wi-Fi (wherever there is 3G or 4G coverage during the trip).
