Great Experience
Scottish Guided Tours were fantastic to deal with from first contact with Nikki and Niall to follow up after the tour was over. Great communication and detail. Our guide, William, was extremely knowledgeable and shared this in an interesting and enjoyable way. He was also a very professional driver and we felt safe on those very narrow roads. We would highly recommend Scottish Guided Tours to anyone visiting Scotland.
Response from the operator: Hello Jolayne, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of your experiences with us. I am delighted to hear you had such a fantastic experience and will pass your kind words onto William. Please let us know if you find yourselves in Scotland again, we would be thrilled to adventure with you further. Kind regards and Slainte, Niall M and the SGT Team

Fantastic day in the Highlands and Isle of Skye
This was a perfect tour when you do not have time to actually stay in Isle of Skye for a couple of days, but want to get a taste of the Highlands and the Isle. Our tour guide, Ross, provided us with old and new history (which my family loves) as well as regaled us with the Scottish stories and legends, and also found us an open coffee place at 8 in the morning! My boys (10 and 12) loved the tour. It was also nice to have the flexibility to stop wherever you want (which for us included a little yarn store on the side of the road that spins and dyes their own yarn) and have some say in the itinerary. All in all, it was a fantastic day!
Response from the operator: Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a review and share your experience. We are thrilled you had such a wonderful time with Ross and shall pass on your kind words to him. Please do keep us in mind if you find yourselves back in Scotland, we would be delighted to plan another family adventure for you. Kind regards and Slainte, Niall M and the SGT Team

An Amazing Experience!
Scottish Irish Tours was fantastic to work with. They were incredibly attentive throughout the entire process. Heather was a wonderful guide! We had a lot to accomplish in a short time and she fit it all in with the highlight being our stop in Glencoe and the climb up to the Old Man of Storr. Heather’s knowledge of the history and areas heightened every experience. Well done!
Response from the operator: Hello Tim! Thank you so very much for taking the time to review your experience with us. I shall pass your kind words onto Heather! Please do let me know if you find yourselves in Scotland again, we would be thrilled to pull together another adventure for you. Kind regards and Slainte, Niall M and the SGT Team

An unforgetable trip thanks to Heather and Scottish Guided Tours
An unforgetable trip thanks to Heather and Scottish Guided Tours My brother and I wanted to fullfill our elderly mother's wish to travel once more to beautiful Scotland. back in early July. I visited Scotland with my daugher back in December last year and has such an amazing trip thanks to Scottish Guided Tours that i decided to request their help again to design a tour specifically tailored for our mother. Niall, and Nikki spent time with me to understand our needs, i.e a tip to teh Highlands, including mix of history, nature sights and a visit of the isle of Skye. On the morning of our first day in Edinburgh, we were greated by Heather with a smile as beautifu as the sun that was radiating that morning . My whole family was immediately charmed by Heather. We knew were in good hands from the start. In terms of the tour, through the ighlands we were extremely lucky to get sunshine every day so we saw ll the sights with the best light possible. So each site was as spectacular as the other. Heather always shared fascinating historical facts at each stop and punctuating her explanations with incredible stories and legends. From a travel persective, it was simply as spectacular trip that combined the beauty of the natural sights and historical sights. Every day was organized perfectly allowing us to see all of the key sights we wanted to visit but at the same time not too hectic to drain the energy out of our elderly mother. Heather was just the perfect tour guide throughout the tour but more than anything else, the care and attention she provided our elderly mother time and time again throught the trip was simply out of this world. The most telling proof of how fantastic she was is the fact that despite our mother's early stage of dementia, her trip to Scotland is stil fresh in her memory. She keeps talking about it and speaking so highly of Heather. What better proof than this to inform everyone how great Heather and Scottish Guided Tours are.. What sets them apart is their human touch! My broher and I will never be able to thank them enough for being able to create such a great lasting memory with our family.
Response from the operator: Hello Pat, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and heartfelt review! We were thrilled to bring your Scottish dreams to life. I am so glad we have left your mum with some wonderful memories. I shall pass your kind words onto Heather also. Please do let me know if you find yourselves travelling to Scotland again, we would be delighted to welcome you back for another adventure. Kind regards and Slainte, Niall M and the SGT Team

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.
How much does Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $5363 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.
Is Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 104 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?
+
On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience in Edinburgh, The Mountebank Comedy Walk of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Old Town: Historical Guided Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Edinburgh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
