    Highly recommended

This was a really fun morning/afternoon out on the water. Captain Greg showed me and my three buddies a good time. Easygoing and knowledgeable, he got us safely to beer can island and we had a blast swimming around the island. This made our guys weekend feel like we did something other than bar hop and sit at the pool. Recommend

Response from the operator: We love hearing it! So happy you had a blast on the water with Capt. Greg. See you next year!

    Poor

I do not feel like the captain Wayne was very welcoming, seemed like everything was super strict, and nothing fun about the “party boat”. There were no floats (although we only stopped to use the bathroom twice and to get gas), no ice initially provided until we got gas (which I didn’t know was a part of the trip), no water offered or provided as mentioned on the reminder text, and we were not able to get off the boat due to the choppy seas, which was what we were looking forward to. It seemed like we kept driving in a figure 8 as we continued to look at the same views for the four hour duration. We asked to go back to our pick up spot sooner than the tour ended because it was just boring to keep circling around the same areas. The captain mentioned that it wasn’t safe to go where we could have gotten off, although he still offered us to. He was also yelling at someone who was fishing off a dock where we stopped to use the bathroom because he stated they were not supposed to be fishing in that area, although they disagreed with him. Additionally, it seemed like we played musical chairs on the boat as the captain had requested us to shift seats at least three times because of the weight differences. I truly did not enjoy the party boat experience. Maybe it was the captain maybe it was the type of day as far as the weather went… I was just really looking for a better experience on my birthday for my friends and I to enjoy.

Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tampa.

How much does Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion cost?

    +

Prices start at $680 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tampa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tampa is not rushed.

Is Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Tampa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tampa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tampa and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Island Hop Tampa Bay Private Boat Excursion start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tampa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tampa?

    +

Tampa covers Busch Gardens, Ybor City food and cigar history walks, manatee snorkelling at Crystal River, dolphin cruises on the bay and Clearwater beach days. Manatee tours are seasonal and heavily regulated, so operator conduct matters. On Outty we rank every Tampa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Tampa Sightseeing Tour in a Deluxe Street Legal Golf Cart, Shared Ybor City Historic Walking Tour, Escape Game at Midtown Tampa. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tampa?

    +

November to April, with manatee season from November to March. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tampa?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
