    We had a terrible time...

We had a terrible time finding the bus pick up stop! There was no clarity relying the message. We had to talk back and forth between stops, there was no one to give proper location. It was poorly organized. The tour guide was not friendly or had a jovial attitude. She did not do much, just constantly focusing on time to return to the bus! The last stop for sunset was excellent! It was a highlight of the tour!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you found the pickup process frustrating and that the tour did not fully meet your expectations. We would, however, like to clarify that detailed directions and the exact pickup point are provided to all guests in advance of the tour. We make every effort to ensure that this information is clear so that guests can arrive at the designated meeting point without difficulty. We understand that finding a pickup location in a busy area can sometimes be challenging, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us identify where we may be able to make the instructions even clearer. Regarding the guide and the focus on time, this is an important part of a bus tour. With a larger group and multiple stops scheduled throughout the day, the guide’s responsibility is to keep the tour running according to schedule. This allows all guests to visit the planned locations and enjoy the full itinerary without delays affecting the experience for the entire group. We appreciate that this may have come across as an excessive focus on timing, but maintaining the schedule is necessary to ensure a smooth experience for everyone on the bus. That said, we’re pleased to hear that you particularly enjoyed the final sunset stop and that it was the highlight of your tour. We appreciate you recognizing that part of the experience, and we hope that, despite the issues you mentioned, you were able to enjoy the beauty of the destination and the overall itinerary.

    Wonderful Tour

Amazing toue, collect on time clean cool bus very comfortable with aircon great tour guide Eliise very knowledgeable full of energy kind caring looking out for the whole group clearly loves the island and the stops on the tour. Ending with the most magnificent sunset in Oia can’t wait to return and spend more time in Pyrgos and Akrotiri to see a far more traditional side. Would 100% recommend

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such an amazing time on the tour and that you found the bus clean, comfortable, and pleasantly cool throughout the day. It’s especially lovely to hear your kind words about Elise. We’ll be sure to share your compliments with her — she’ll be thrilled to know that her knowledge, energy, kindness, and care for the group helped make your experience so enjoyable. She truly loves sharing the island with our guests! And of course, we’re so happy that the sunset in Oia was the perfect finale to your day. It’s wonderful to hear that you’re already looking forward to returning and exploring more of Pyrgos and Akrotiri and discovering their more traditional side. Thank you again for choosing to tour with us.

    Overall good value

Overall we enjoyed the day, but it was a bit of an endurance test. The coach picked us up ahead of time and we drove to Pyrgos where we waited for over 40 minutes to transfer to another coach. No communication other than the word “STAY” from our driver, so no one knew what was going on and then the hassle of getting off and then on to another coach with limited seating. Not a great start. Our guide Elisse (?) was OK but was relatively inexperienced and spoke English like a machine gun at over 200 miles an hour ! English is my first language and I could barely keep up, many of our party zoned out completely and the couple in the seats ahead of me used a translation app. It was also irksome to be continually referred as “my lovely people”. It really is quite a meaningless thing to say and does not endear anybody to the guide. A small gripe, I know ! One positive comment was that our guide was red hot on the timekeeping making it very clear when we needed to be back on the bus and despite that every time we stopped people were late returning. I just do not get that uncourteous behaviour - which in my view should be called out and culprits made to stand between legs of the journey 😁 The Prophet Ilias monastery was impressive with great views but unfortunately on the way down the mountain, we encountered a broken down truck which resulted in another 40 minute delay. Obviously this is not fault of the travel company. Akrotiri, Fira and Oia were well worth the visit and we had enough time to see them properly, have a meal, drinks and purchase souvenirs. I thought that the pricing for food and drink was reasonable and not what we were expecting from the more touristy areas. We were back at our hotel by 10 pm so all in all the trip was around 11 hours long hence my comment about it being a bit of an endurance test. Overall, the trip was good value and worth doing, but you need stamina, a couple of beers or a glass of wine.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed feedback! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed visiting Akrotiri, Fira, and Oia, and that you found the overall trip good value and worthwhile. We also appreciate your comments about the timing, coach transfer, and communication, as well as your feedback on the guide and pace of the tour. Your insights are very helpful and will be shared with our team as we continue to improve the experience. Thank you again for taking the time to share your review.

Comprehensive tour with interesting and knowledgeable tour guide

This was a full on comprehensive tour of all the spots on Santorini . Taking in Pygros, Fira, Akrotiri, Red beach and Oia for the sunset, and more. Getting a bit of time in each place to have a look about. This is the first tour we have done and found it a great way to see the island. Our guide Elise was lovely, full of information and very friendly. This tour is not for the feint hearted as you will do a lot of walking, however, you can choose not to go on the individual walks. and stay put till the tour comes back. It's very hot, we brought water but most definitely needed more. There are plenty places to buy en route. So remember, water, sunscreen and comfy shoes! We have other tours booked too. We found a wee spot slightly out of the town a d therfore, crowds, to watch the sunset. side note, our bus was more than 30 mins late to collect us, we were just giving up.... remember, its Greece, they are more relaxed about timings lol

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed this comprehensive tour of Santorini and that Elise made the experience informative and friendly. It’s great to hear you found it a good way to see the island and appreciated the key stops, including Oia for the sunset. We also appreciate your helpful notes regarding walking, heat, and the pickup delay, and we will share this with our team for review. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience!

    Day trip round island

Did full day island tour. Elise our guide was very good with lots of funny anecdotes about island. Pyrgos very beautiful and views from monastery magnificent. Fira also was lovely recommend the Vines for food and views, Oia was ok but very busy had drinks instead at Kookos bar further out but sunset still incredible from there. Good day but not sure Akroti worth entrance fee

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the full-day tour and that Elise brought the experience to life with her stories. It’s great to hear you appreciated Pyrgos, Fira, and the sunset in Oia. We also appreciate your comments regarding Akrotiri. Please note that the entrance fee is set by the Archaeological Site and is not part of the tour price. Thank you again for sharing your helpful review!

Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.

How much does Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini cost?

    +

Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.

Is Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 140 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini?

    +

Around 49 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Island Bus Tour: The Majestic Spots Of Santorini start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santorini?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santorini?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santorini?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
