    2. Staubbach Waterfall

Lauterbrunnen's landmark and Switzerland's highest freefalling waterfall can be explored during summer season from behind by way of a purposely-built rock gallery. 3. Murren

Mürren – a former settlement of people from the Lötschen valley in the Valais, which still remains recognisable today from the design of the houses and the pronunciation of the Mürren dialect – is the highest, continually inhabited village settlement in the canton of Bern and lies on a terrace at 1650 metres, high above the Lauterbrunnen valley. A double-cable ropeway leads up onto the plateau from Lauterbrunnen, while a cableway runs from Stechelberg, past turbulent waterfalls and craggy rock faces, into the centre of the car-free village of Mürren, and further to the Schilthorn at 2970 metres.

The arrival alone is spectacular – a cable-car takes you high over the rocks to Gimmelwald (1400 m). Above all, families and young people from all corners of the world come together here.

    5. Trummelbach Falls

The Trümmelbach Falls are the world's only glacier waterfalls that are accessible underground by lift, galleries, tunnels, paths and platforms. They alone carry the meltwater of the glaciers from the Jungfrau down to the valley - up to 20,000 liters of water per second. The water carries with it over 20,000 tons of boulders and scree per year and causes the entire mountain to shudder and make a thundering noise.

    Fantastic views, but expensive.

The scenery was incredible but the driver was not local. English was poor but the driver was friendly.

Response from the operator: Hi Mr Lance Dosch from Arizona. You are a horrible racist. You complain about the tour guide not being local Swiss. But we never promised an ethnically Swiss person (read the tour description!). Expecting to be served by a white person is the perfect example of racism and entitlement. About the tour guide not speaking English well: This is total rubbish. He has an accent yes, since he is not from the USA or UK. But we never had any complaints about language and he did many tours mainly with Americans. But I know why you are upset, you were upset about not being served by an ethnically white person. It is so disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself Mr Lance Dosch. You also complain about the tour being expensive. This tour is only expensive because you bought it on Viator. Viator has 30% commission fee. So in fact the tour is not expensive. It is your fault that you buy it on Viator and not from us directly at much cheaper price. You can choose freely where you buy things. You are happy to pay hundreds of USD more because you want to buy it on Viator, but then call the tour expensive. Simply stupid! Also, Interlaken is the most expensive destination in Switzerland. Of course if you want to travel there you pay a premium for everything. There are thousands of mountains in Switzerland that look the same as Interlaken, but you decided to go to the most expensive place and complain it is expensive. This is totally stupid. If it is too expensive for you then don't buy it! You have also been very rude to interrupt me and hang up the phone call when I called you to explain the situation. Writing rubbish online and then not facing the discussion shows what a disgraceful cowardly person you are.

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Interlaken and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Interlaken?

    +

How many days do you need in Interlaken?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
