Authentic experience, useful lessons (keep in mind: shorter than 5 hours, not all meals that are listed)
It was a truly good experience, we actually learned useful tips and tricks for cooking and enjoyed the food that we cooked (I hope we will be able to repeat it at home:) What is a lovely addition is that this class takes place in the chefs home, so it makes the experience even more authentic. Couple of things to have in mind: The location is in Dharavi. The organizers take care of your pick up and arrival, so it's all easy and safe, but at least for us it was a surprise, that we arrived to Dharavi so I want to point that out. Another important detail is that classes name mentions 5-Hour length, but it actually lasts three hours. It's actually enough, but once again, we had different expectations for the duration and only now we noticed info in the description, that the course is 3 hours and they also count 2 hours for pick up and drop off. The last note is that in the description there are mentioned various meals, but in our case we cooked paneer masala, dahl, chapati, jeera rice and dessert. Despite those details, the experience itself was good, I am happy that we did that.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed feedback! We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the cooking experience, learned useful cooking tips and techniques, and had fun preparing and tasting the dishes together. We hope you’ll recreate the recipes successfully at home as well! 😊 We’re also glad that experiencing the class inside the chef’s home made the activity feel more authentic and personal for you. Creating genuine cultural experiences is very important to us. At the same time, we truly appreciate your honest comments regarding the location, duration, and menu expectations. Your feedback is very valuable and helps us improve the clarity of our tour descriptions and communication for future guests. We’re happy to know that despite these details, you still had a positive and memorable experience overall. Thank you for choosing Young Tours & Travel. Your booking also supports our NGO, Young Cares Foundation, helping provide free education and opportunities for underprivileged children in Dharavi. Best Regards, Young Tours And Travel

Excellent cooking class in Mumbai!
Fantastic cooking class with Rahul and his wife!! We prepared several delicious indian dishes where I learnt how to make paneer masala, dahl, chapati, and many others. I not only learnt the recipes but also gained a better understanding of Indian spices and cooking techniques. The class lasted for about 3 hours but the time flew by!!! I highly recommend this cooking class to anyone visiting Mumbai who wants an authentic and hands-on culinary experience! Many thanks to Rahul and his wife :)

Mumbia cooking with Rhaul.
What a great experience, from pick up to drop off. Rhaul met us and took us to meet his wife. After our cruise this was a very humbling experience, in Dharavi Mumbia. We made a welcome drink then set about cooking a vegertian meal in which we were shown ever step very carefully. The steps were done in order to get layers of flavour in to the meal. We made 6 parts of the meal, after we were invited to eat with the family. It was a very good experience one Not to be missed, we would very highly Recommended this.
Response from the operator: Dear David, Thank you so much for your heartfelt and wonderful review! We’re truly happy to know that you had such a meaningful experience from pickup to drop-off and enjoyed your time in Dharavi with us. It’s lovely to hear that meeting the family, preparing the welcome drink, and cooking a traditional vegetarian meal together made your visit special. Sharing food, culture, and real everyday life is at the heart of this experience, and we’re glad you could enjoy the flavors, learning process, and warm hospitality of the family. At Young Tours & Travel, we aim to create authentic cultural connections while ensuring respectful and responsible tourism. Your booking also supports our NGO, Young Cares Foundation, where a portion of every tour helps fund education programs, free classes, and community support for underprivileged children in Dharavi. Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.
How much does Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai cost?
+
Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.
Is Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Indian Curry 5-Hour Cooking Classes In Mumbai start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mumbai?
+
On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mumbai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mumbai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
