An overall good experience but nothing great
It was fun but not something I would recommend based on the overall experience. The guide and helper were nice men but didn't give us much value added knowledge of the area we kayaked in. The river was nice and easy to kayak in but there wasn't a whole lot to look at as we moved along. We saw a few deer but the rest of the scenery was bushes and houses. To be fair, the whole experience may have been boosted several notches if we had a clear night and could see the night sky. Because the water levels were low, we also did not go into the lake to paddle more. The equipment was fine and the guide a nice young man but there just wasn't any part of the experience that elevated it to really worthwhile and "cool".

A beautiful and unique way to experience the river and sky!
So much fun! These aren't sport kayaks, so don't be expecting challenging swift water - the river is gentle and the scenery is beautiful. Such a gorgeous, relaxing way to spend the evening. Our guide was great and sent us all the pictures he took of the group. Just a really unique and fun way to spend the evening!

Boring
This could be a worthwhile experience but the route is very short, we sat in the same spot for about half an hour, and it was just boring. If we had left later, we could have at least seen a starry sky, but the stars were just coming out as we returned.

A gorgeous fun experience...
A gorgeous fun experience out on the water. Highly recommend for couples to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

Do not recommend
Showed up at the park, triple checked address no one showed up. Sent 2 different messages, no response. Received an email saying they hoped o enjoyed my trip. Ummm there was none….. so I WOULD NOT recommend this trip.
Response from the operator: Hi Beth, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive expecting your tour and feel like no one was there. I looked into everything on our end, and I wasn't able to find any missed calls or text messages from you. We were also fully staffed that evening, so I'm trying to figure out exactly what happened. My best guess is that there may have been a misunderstanding with the meeting time, but I want to investigate further before jumping to any conclusions. Would you mind confirming the date of your reservation? Once I have that, I'll review our guide logs and booking details to see exactly what happened and work with you on a fair resolution. Again, I'm truly sorry that your experience wasn't what either of us expected, and I appreciate you bringing it to my attention.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for West Glacier.
How much does Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT cost?
+
Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in West Glacier usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in West Glacier is not rushed.
Is Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 53 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in West Glacier, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in West Glacier can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in West Glacier and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Illuminated Glass Kayak Sunset Tour//Whitefish, MT start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central West Glacier within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in West Glacier?
+
West Glacier, MT packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in West Glacier by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every West Glacier experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Whitewater Rafting Trip, Half Day Scenic Float on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, Half-Day Glacier National Park Whitewater Rafting Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit West Glacier?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in West Glacier, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in West Glacier?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
